Manhattan Bagel — Restaurant in Phillipsburg

Happened to see this little shop as we were going through town and headed back to NC! So glad we stopped. The family was so kind and expressed they just bought it last year. As a small Coffee Shop owner that also acquired an already established business, it is so hard the first year to adjust and figure things out. So please give them grace and patience.

Now to the really good stuff. I ordered the classic egg, cheese, and meat (I chose ham) sandwich on an everything bagel. SCRUMPTIOUS! It is pictured below. We also got a half a dozen different bagels to nibble and try, yum!!! We got a smoothie, cold brew, cream cheese tubs to go, and bagel dog treats. Everything was good and we were very happy! Oh and my daughter got her own everything bagel toasted with plain cream cheese and she said it was yummy, she's a tough critic since we have our own shop.

All of this was just under $50. That is not bad. Also, I saw someone comment $3.50 was too much for a toasted bagel and cream cheese. I charge $2.50-$3.00 and mine are not made in-house, so their price is on point, if not under priced for being housemade!!!

Extremely Rude. Terrible Customer Service I made the unfortunate mistake of stopping in here for a bagel when I was working up in the area. It was 2 PM and there were customers inside and outside still. The young man happily took my order and I went to go use the bathroom. A lady followed me into the men’s room and said I was only allowed to use the men’s room because of COVID-19 I said OK no worries. She told me to make sure I clean up after myself and I said OK no worries. I came out went to pay and the owner asked me if I flushed properly and cleaned up after myself. I said yes don’t you think that is a little forward of you to ask? And the woman followed me out of the bathroom to the front counter to pay. The owner then went to tell me that from going forward I should be asking if I should I could use someone’s bathroom not just assume . I told him not to worry that I will never come back to his establishment again. He said OK great. I’m sorry I ever walked in here when an unwelcoming...

The staff are extremely rude. I deliver food through doordash and every single time I've come to this place I've been given an attitude for no reason at all. I remember one specific moment when I was waiting for 2 separate orders and the staff wanted me to confirm one of the orders while I was still waiting for the other. (When you hit confirm, it signals the customer that you've picked up their food and are on your way).. I kindly explained I wouldn't be hitting confirm until both orders were ready to go... The guy started shaking his head, rolling his eyes and actually started laughing in my face as if I didn't know what I was doing or talking about.

I have now refused to accept any orders that come from here. I don't care what pay I miss out on from doing so. There's no excuse to treat people that way.. Especially people that are actually doing...
