BEST THING ABOUT THIS POOL IS COACH DRAKE!!! MY FAMILY LOVES HIM! BEST COACH EVER!!!!!
Updated review 8/8/2025
My kids were left unsupervised for 11 minutes this afternoon. A lifeguard told my daughter she might have to call the police because they are abandoned at the pool. Ok I get it Im at the car alright they have to be 13 to stay within the pool ok no problem my fault. The lifeguard proceeded to say my child was being violent and throwing a rock and she had to kick out another family. Wow lots of action for a 11 min phone call at my car outside the gate. We are a swim team family at that. She also mentioned my daughter needed to be escorted to the basketball courts to be returned to he father last week.I had no idea about this. No clue. The anger and fire that this girl was spitting was ridiculous. I have never seen anybody treated thus way at the pool and now that I know this I will act accordingly. Great way to treat members and swim team families. This girl cannot be older than 21. I am 43. I will never leave my kids unattended ever again. I hope you don't either. I cannot believe a grown adult told my 9 year old daughter this. She was hysterically crying I DID NOTHING WRONG MOMMY. I guess people leave their kids all the time at the pool? I wish someone would clean those wretched bathrooms! Too busy painting my child as a serial rock thrower. 🙄
This pool and splash pad are truly one of the highlights of living in Phillipsburg. I remember when the old pool was torn down and rebuilt during the COVID-19 years. It made me realize how fortunate we are to have a local aquatic facility within reach—especially one that’s brand new and family-friendly.
My kids love it. My youngest enjoys the floating snake in the shallow end, the water spouts, the slide, and the splash pad’s giant frog and dump bucket. My middle child prefers the deep end and swims competitively with GPS Swim Team. We bought summer passes for our family of four for $272—not cheap, but fair for the quality of access.
The newness of the pool is still evident and appreciated. I’ve also enjoyed the friendly staff—there are a few lifeguards and concession workers who are absolutely wonderful.
What Could Be Better:
• Concession Stand Prices: My only gripe is how quickly snack costs add up. $7–$8 per child per visit gets expensive. I paid $11 on a Saturday and was told I’d have to pay an extra $0.75 for more nacho cheese—even though the first cheese cup was only half full.
• Bathroom Cleanliness: This is the major issue that dropped my rating from 5 stars to 3. The women’s bathroom has been in poor condition this season: • Toilets frequently clogged (all 3). • Floors often dirty with hair, urine, and litter. • No toilet paper half the time. • A pink, goopy substance has been sitting in the soap dispenser since last season. • Smears on the walls in the handicap stall that my children say look like blood—it’s something they mention every time.
I truly like the staff and understand many workers are students home for the summer, but there has to be someone responsible for monitoring cleanliness. As a paying member, I expected regular maintenance to be part of the seasonal fee.
Honestly, I’ve been tempted to bring my own gloves and cleaning supplies, which is not something a parent should have to consider. I haven’t seen a clear manager on-site to report this to—just young workers doing their best.
Final Thoughts:
We love the pool and have made great memories here. I hope management takes feedback like this seriously, because a clean, safe bathroom is not too much to ask. With better restroom maintenance, this would be a 5-star...
Read moreI would give it five stars were it not for the condition of the bathroom and the need for more lounge chairs. Maybe just 10? Most public pools give a discounted rate at the end of the day. Shen I inquired of the girl at the entrance, she was unsure. She did say she thought it was a $2.00 charge from 7-8pm. Maybe 2hrs instead of one would be more reasonable. Anyway, the pool area was clean with plenty of lifeguards. Every section of the pool had some kind of activity (slides, sprinklers, a rock climbing wall). The sprinkler park area was my favorite part! Colorful...
Read moreWhy is the pool so expensive? It seems we can get non-resident passes to Easton or Lopatcong for less than our own towns resident price. Or $4 a visit as a non-resident vs $10 as a resident for our own town. Does my tax money go to this or does the fees fully cover it? Plus why did we build an outdoor pool in a town where you can only use it 4 months a year. If we can get some answers maybe I will...
