While Lana was very enthusiastic and confident in her ability to manage my strapless, corset, fitted wedding dress back in November, when I took the dress back to her in Feb (4 months before my wedding) she was not so sure about her ability to deliver. She cannot resize built in bra cups (I needed smaller) in a corset and instead opted for trying to fill my built in cups with more cups. She did not know how to take in a strapless, corset, fitted wedding gown so that there is no rippling in the skirt or so that the corset sections look evenly distributed or so the dress is not falling. It seemed she was trying to take shortcuts in the alterations. I spoke to another seamstress who has detailed to me the correct way to take in my dress, but unfortunately Lana has wasted valuable months that I could have used to look for a different seamstress, and that seamstress cannot take me since I am now much closer to my wedding date.

Her front door does not close very well, and as soon as I came in, holding my dress and shoes with both hands very occupied, she tells me to close the door, not even giving me time to put down my things or the chance to close it. She was not able to help me until 15 minutes into my appointment time as well. I left the appointment not only disappointed, but feeling regretful of even buying my dress that I fell in love with because she tried to say she can only do so much with how the dress is made. (I have just contacted seamstresses that say otherwise…)

Please look elsewhere where if you have a strapless, fitted wedding gown, especially if it has a corset.

I am a customer of Lana's from Canada. I was visiting Tucson and found her on the internet while looking for someone to make a dress for my daughter's wedding. She took my measurements and we agreed I would come back for 3-5 fittings of the garment. I was so impressed by her professional capability that I decided to order two dresses. I was amazed at how quickly she progressed in her development of the creation. After several fittings, I received the finished garments with a high end level of perfection in all details. The dresses fit perfectly and I was delighted. Lana suggested creating from the leftover fabric, two shawls to complement the outfits. They are beautiful. Lana was wonderful to work with and I trusted her ability and reliability immediately. What a positive experience it was to work with such a talented and friendly person. I was comfortable from the beginning and will definitely return to select one of her amazing creations in her boutique, Alis Fashion Design in Scottsdale, or to have her complete another custom made outfit.
