Something weird is going on at this store… I rarely shop at Bashas, but occasionally their janky app sends me a notification about a sale that looks good and I go. Maybe 2 times a year ish. The last couple times, my cashier was over the top hyperactive, and excessively excited over each item in my cart, giving off major meth vibes. I don’t know enough about the stuff to be sure. But I met a reformed prior user at church who told me my hunches were spot on, and that other encounters I’ve had, I should not have been so “give them the benefit of the doubt”. Fast forward to today… it’s been like 6 + months since I’ve been there. Decided to go for some groceries because of a notification on a sale. I stepped away from my cart for about a minute because I didn’t want my cart crowding the isle I went down. 1 min later, my full cart was gone. I asked security if they saw anyone taking my cart. Security was apologetic and said they took it thinking someone abandoned it, and that it was over by all of the other abandoned carts 🤯 is that a thing?? My cart was nestled in a group of 5 other full carts!! What’s up with that?? Why is that a thing?? Then…. After I finished shopping and went to check out, while I was trying to punch in my phone number I looked up and the cashier was taking a photo of me. I gave him a confused look. He said “oh I’m just taking a photo for my wife.” Me trying to give him the benefit of the doubt, I thought, ok, maybe he had the front camera on and was taking a pic of himself while the back camera was aimed at me?? So I said, “oh, ok, I guess you never know what someone is aiming at… “ many many moments of silence and my skeptical facial expression waiting for a reasonable response later, he said, “not you, the colorful guy.” I’m sorry what is that? What is a colorful guy? I didn’t see any guy. But did notice the cashiers phone with camera on sitting there while I was waiting for the person in front of me to check out, while the cashier fumbled with saying he didn’t scan the water that was in his cart, and then said oops I scanned it now I’ve scanned it twice, while trying to remove the over charge frantically. Just weirdness. What is that guy doing with my photo? The sale item I went for was sold out so the whole strange experience was pointless. I think this may be the last time I go there. Just weirdness and questionable employees that probably should be...
Read moreWhere do I begin? I like this store because of the 18 donuts for less than $10 on Fridays. the donuts have always been delicious as i always remembered since I was a kid.
I also love how they have the birthday program for a free 4 or 8 inch cake. They even ask if you want additional things without charging you extra. I've been doing the birthday program when my oldest was a baby .
It's not too far from me. It's a nice walk to the store. It's also nearby a dairy queen and a pet place and a State Farm office that gives doggie treats.
It's also on a bus line. Across the street is a Goodwill, another donuts shop and also a Dollar Tree and on the other side of the street is a CVS and the other side is a lot of houses and condos.
The staff is also very friendly and they always ask if you need any assistance and they go out of their way to ask how are you doing too. They also brag about their staff.
Sometimes the lines are long but that is expected because it's a store. I am never there when the lines are too long. plus, I'm always there when there is only 1 to 2 registers opened. You can also pay for certain stuff at the Bakery/ Meat dept.
The prices are reasonable and compared to Safeway, prices are better than Safeway. When compared to other stores, It just depends on what you buy to know if it's cheap or not. I mentioned Safeway because a guy complained about how their prices are not as great as Safeway. From the looks of the guy, he looks like he can afford Safeway. That might be passing judgement but if you're gonna buy from Safeway then you likely have some additional money. Safeway is not cheap. that's like buying from AJ's Fine Foods which is a division of Bashas.
I have not seen a play area at that store. I know for a fact that bashas used to have a play area for them. I believe that was removed a few years ago.
Okay everyone go hook up with the Friday delicious...
Read moreSo I never review places, but after having a terrible experience there, I was curious about their reviews & looked them up. The recurring theme is the employees have attitude, & lots of customers thinking employees are giving off meth vibes. Oddly enough that was exactly my thought after my experience. The cashier was instantly rude & had what they call "meth mouth" to boot. Plus just a very odd & twitchy demeanor. I'm in that store a couple times a week but I refuse to go back. I try to give people the benefit of doubt & was raised with manners, but this was the last straw. Their manager looks all but 13 & won't get off her phone when she's called to go help customers out. And yes, the lines are indeed all too long. I could go on, but I just dealt with it.. no drama yada yada, but mostly it's the "meth mouth" brunette cashier in her 40's-50's. She must be a recent hire because I hadn't seen her before. She huffed & puffed, was rude, demanding & lazy. Not just with me though. I don't think she'll last long though, even there. There's no way she won't get fired. You can't treat people that poorly & keep your job, it'll eventually catch up to her. It's obvious she's a miserable person stuck at a miserable job, but Basha's screen your people! & like many other reviewers have said...drug test them for crying out loud! Good luck with all...
