On a whim I popped in while visiting family to get a quick workout in. Being that I had experience with CP I knew what to expect in my workout as the classes are all geared with the same format generally, regardless of the level of class. I booked my class and within no time received a text from the front desk personnel, Brittany, reaching out asking about my Pilates experience to which I did reply I've been doing it for 6 years and I knew how to modify for my hip issue. Very friendly and professional! Upon my arrival I was greeted by Brittany right away. I got my grip socks on and found an open reformer. I should mention I am NOT a secret shopper BUT I am a comprehensively trained Balanced Body Pilates instructor, as well as a previous CP employee (so am very aware of both teaching Pilates as well as CP corporate) and previous studio owner. So I have both Pros and Cons here: Cons: The instructor (Renee) never introduced herself to me nor ask if I had anything going on in my body she should be aware of in our movements (to be fair perhaps Brittany had already told her she asked me). We strictly stuck to the reformer (which I was fine with as I love it) but since I knew what corporate required I was surprised by this. There were several people who stood on their carriages without holding onto the foot bar. In my training this is a HUGE safety risk. If there is a reformer open the instructor is allowed to demonstrate but not continually keep moving (working out) after demonstrating as was the case here, so again, a bit surprised. Pros: Movement cues were good (I picked up one actually!). Renee did come and fix my posture in a movement to ensure I was in proper alignment. She offered a nice stretch/cool down the last 5 minutes or so. Both Brittany and subsequently Rachel reached out to see how I enjoyed the class, so their customer service was great.
All in all it wasn't a bad experience but for the drop in rate I spent I had hoped for more. Next time I will do a bit more research...
Read moreThis is such a fantastic Pilates studio - they truly have it all, from springboard to TRX to reformer you’ll never get bored taking a class here.
I’ve done a LOT of different Pilates classes at many different studios (used to live in LA, and Pilates is like Starbucks there, one on every corner lol!) and this is the most well equipped studio I have ever been to. This is real deal Pilates and it’s very affordable when you do a monthly package.
It’s extremely clean, the instructors are very knowledgeable, (especially Hope), and the staff is so lovely and accommodating. The clientele I have met are also very nice, normal, people of all ages (men and women!) shapes and sizes. You can definitely feel comfortable coming here as a beginner, or an experienced Pilates person and know that you will have a place here. The classes are ranked, which is really nice, so you can have an easier class or a harder class depending on your experience.
The only negative I can think of is that sometimes there’s a very long waitlist for certain classes. But my experience has been that I will almost always get in to a class if I just get on the waitlist.
Highly recommend!
Edited to add: my 🍑 and my abs have been looking 👌🏼 since...
Read moreI really love Club Pilates Central Phoenix! The vibe is great, the teachers are wonderful and it has become a second home. I was new to Pilates when I started. I knew I needed to build exercise into my life, but I had tried a number of different things over the years and I never found anything I liked enough to stick with it. After taking an intro class that gave me hope, I initially signed up for a package that offered 8 classes a month. By the second week of taking classes, I loved it so much I switched to an unlimited class package. That was 8 months ago and I am still going strong. Taking 6 - 8 classes a week and also loving the way it makes me look and feel. I should also say that I am at an age when many people give up on exercise and spend more time complaining abut aches and pains than enjoying life. No one it too old to get real benefit from Pilates and this studio is very committed to Pilates the way it was intended. You can't...
