Local Nomad — Local services in Phoenix

Well. I’m so sad I’m even making this. Traveling to Phoenix, I found this place months in advance. I followed them on instagram and have been so excited to come in shop. They state they carry plus size clothing on their instagram and site, but they don’t. I didn’t see one size above an XL on the racks. It’s small, clothing was beautiful thou. The service was so astoundingly bad. I took an Uber here and was treated better. One sweet girl said “hello” when I walked in and then she disappeared. The two women at the counter just chatted and didn’t even ask me if I needed a size or anything. I mean at a place like this, I expected to be greeted and asked like some follow up questions, like “how can I help you?” “are you looking for anything specific” I would have loved to be interacted with. I was so excited and it was a major let down. Maybe my looks or attire was too not their vibe. I was wearing biker shorts and a Johnny Cash T Shirt. I’m not sure, what their deal was but so underwhelming. Now the products. Clothes are expensive but gorgeous! Like stunning. And that’s why they are getting two stars from me. I saw a lot of the same things at the farmers market this morning. The trays were beautiful but very mid.

Edit: As I have traversed Phoenix shopping the last couple days, I’ve heard only wonderful things about the owner and the work she has done to empower small businesses in her area. I wish my experience was different. I really do. I contemplated taking this down. I wish it wasn’t...

Love this shop!!!! I received a gorgeous ring from this store as a gift but it didn't fit - when I took it back to the store I thought I might just get store credit (which is fine because there are SO MANY beautiful products to pick from) but to my surprise they were SO ACCOMMODATING and went out of their way to coordinate with the vendor in order to get a special size made. They made the experience so easy and now I have a ring that fits perfectly!

Here’s the thing, this boutique has set the bar high for other local shops in the Phoenix area. The entire staff, including seasonal staff, are just the kindest people! They have a lovely selection in the boutique for home goods, beautiful sustainable clothing, really nice smelling candles and a children’s section that has the cutest toys and books and more!
