When you are barely able to keep up with inflation, the current economic situation, and all the increasing costs of food, this is my go to place! I have shopped here before, don’t get me wrong. It has all that you would need for the Mexican food you know you crave! Making it saves you money and shopping here helps you save money! I only bought $99.50 in groceries here. But I have 16 days of meals, buying 6 packages of 2 large packages of pork stew meat, 1 package of beef Eye of the round flat steak and 3 packages of chicken. Keep in mind, I breaking down and separating the individual dinner portions into frozen ziplock bags for dinner. And buying frozen veggies to add to the meal. I can find all that I need to make it stretch. Even a huge jug of spaghetti sauce was just a tad bit more than 2 individual jars somewhere else, but here $7.49. Now I like to cook and I can make a meal for 2 with leftovers, just by cooking and adding to it, including vegetables, or rice or homemade beans. A good size bag of Mexican cheese $8.99. Canned green chili sauce 2.49 for larger can. Where you shop is a personal choice. Seriously, I go out of my way to shop here. Saving is the name of the game and Mexican food groceries and food to pick up and eat in store or take home. They have fresh sweet breads and cakes and everything you need for those home made tamales or tacos or your favorite home made salsas. And don’t forget the cold cervezas, cause they have that here too! Enjoy!

Bakery quality has gone down. I live 1.5 hours away where they don't have Ranch Markets. I come to this location because it's near my job. I loved getting cakes from here, we get at least 12 a year because of birthdays and holidays. I think they changed the baker because up until a couple of months ago the quality was good and I used to always see this one baker who they'd ask questions for special orders. Now it's another lady. This mother's day was ruined, I always make sure to keep the cake safe on my way home. This time the cake was ruined because they cheaped out and used too much frosting in the middle. Normally I get the bigger cakes but because we celebrate Mexican mothers day, US mothers day and my moms birthday is a couple days later I was going to get 3 small ones. Go to another Ranch Market. The one on Southern and Central is still good.

Really great place: Clean, reasonable prices and courteous staff. Every time I make a trip out here from North Scottsdale I am amazed at the courteousness of the staff. My first visit was at the time they had the lottery, I was at self checkout and I asked the lady if they have cards...do I need to sign up. She gave me a huge smile and said "No, we ALWAYS have good prices" She is not kidding. Last time I was there on a Tuesday and the ladies were all really sweet and the food was great! Store has fresh made tortillas a cheese, deli, counter fresh meats and whole fresh fish with clear eyes. This time they had a real treat whole pompano. There are lots of ready made salads (fruit, shrimp and greens with chicken) and nicely prepared tamales. Produce is unmatched in price and they never set out anything that is not fresh.

On balance, we would give this a miss.

Once we found our way into the store (we tried a couple of doors that were locked), we found there was a good selection of some goods; in particular, produce, tortillas, Mexican-style baked goods, and meat (we are vegetarian, so just walked quickly through this area).

The produce was very good and reasonably priced.

We had hoped to grab some food for lunch, but did not find the cafeteria vegetarian friendly at all. In fact, we did not really find the people working in the store especially friendly. Or helpful.

Shortly after we arrived one of us looked for the washroom and finally asked for help. He needed an escort to a pin-code locked door which opened into a hallway with two bathroom doors. One had a womens sign, the other had no sign. Neither had a door knob. The mens rooms smelled strongly of urine. There was plenty of graffiti on the walls. It was not really clean - we wondered what it would have looked like if it had not been behind a locked door!

When we arrived at the checkout, the other of us asked to use the washroom. The cashier said she would have to finds someone to let her in. The next two employees she asked were unable or unwilling to help. One said he did not have a key. To the number pad.

So, a good place for salsas, produce and tortillas (and, maybe, meat), but not an especially enjoyable...

I used to like this store. But yesterday, the staff was extremely rude. The guys at the meat counters had major attitudes. I needed 4 different types of meat bagged up for a barbecue. For whatever reason, that made 2 of them upset. I guess I had the wrong skin color. Not knowing that I knew a little Spanish, one guy kept yelling “mucho trabajo”, which I found funny, because I assumed helping a customer was part of his job description. I was extremely polite & kept a smile on my face even though I knew he was being rude. When he was finished, I took my items & told him thank you. As I walked away, he called me a “pinche cabrón." I didn’t understand why he was so upset considering the fact that he was doing what he’s paid to do. I was actually pretty shocked at their behavior. Then when I got to the register, the cashier didn’t say a word to me. Normally, they are pretty polite. She just rang up the items & waited for the payment. Then she stood there and waited for me to bag my own items. I’ve never had to bag my own groceries at this store. I didn’t mind doing it, I just didn’t understand why I had to. I didn’t see any other customers bagging their own groceries, so it seemed odd to me. Either way, I don’t think I’ll be going back to this location. It’s really upsetting, because I’d actually liked shopping here. Hopefully the staff can get it together in...
