Extremely terrible experience. Was looking for a good deal on four tires for my truck. I’ve found a pretty good deal on OfferUp. The sales woman quoted me 145 attire installed or 170 a tire installed. I confirmed everything before driving all the way from Mesa and she said that there was no issue.
After driving all the way to 41st Avenue and Indian school. I was greeted by a man sitting in the front lobby showroom, eating a piece Of pizza, not seemingly caring if I was there or not. I told him that I was there for the deal that I had discussed over the phone, And showed him my messages. He immediately responded with saying that he could not give me the tires at that price and that the price was $900. I quickly corrected him and showed him my phone with the messages.
He then proceeded to tell me that the cheapest he could do was $790. And then told him that I just wanted the tires that Told me we’re available, he didn’t asked another woman who confirmed that price and she told me and him that she did. At which point he told me that the lowest he could do was $790 Again. I told him I will just take the tires and go somewhere else and have them installed as I could purchase them for $145 .
At this point, another woman got involved in the conversation and told me that the tires I was talking about. We’re for used tires. At this point, I was a little beside myself and thinking that this place was a huge scam, and What sort of unprofessional company would do something like this.
I quickly rebutted her and told her that the ad said new tires and she said that that was a mistake and at which point I just threw my hands up and said I don’t want anything to do with them or I don’t wanna do any business with them is what they’re doing is illegal you can’t advertise something like that And pull a bait and switch just to get people in the front door to all of a sudden come up with a new deal the moment you walk in.
She told me that she was sorry for the mistake, but the lowest that they could sell me, the tires Was for what the guy had told me. At which point I left, I will not be returning, Cannot recommend this place.
This is why so many people are apprehensive with dealing with these sorts of companies like this they do this all the time with Zero accountability. And they really don’t care because people just keep coming there. There are other better places to get tires stay away from this place like...
Read moreI’ve been a loyal customer of Monkey Wheels and Tires, having purchased from them before without any issues. But this most recent experience was an absolute disaster, and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone who values their time, money, or vehicle.
I specifically called in as soon as they opened and spoke to an employee named Itzel. I told her clearly—and I mean clearly—that I needed 255/35 ZR19 tires for the front of my car. I know my car inside and out. These are staggered tires. Itzel confirmed the size, said she could order them from the warehouse, and I even paid in advance to speed up the process.
She offered to call me when they arrived. That call never came. I had to call them myself to find out the tires had already shown up. When I got there, they quickly pulled off my old tires and rolled out the new ones... and that’s when I noticed something was off. They had brought 255/35 R19, not ZR19. A totally different speed rating and construction from what I ordered.
When I pointed this out, they casually told me “that’s all they had.” No apology. No accountability. Just a shrug. And then came the real insult—they said I couldn’t return the tires even though they weren’t mounted on the car yet, just the rims. I wasn’t even asking for a refund. I was willing to pay more for the proper tires I wanted in the first place. But nope, they doubled down on their mistake.
To make matters worse, Itzel told me I must’ve been wrong about my own tire specs. I literally keep all my vehicle receipts—all of them. I showed them proof. Still, no apology. No credit. No attempt to make it right. Just a complete disregard for the fact that their mistake cost me time, money, and trust.
Here’s the kicker—I have cameras at home that recorded the original phone call where I very clearly stated ZR19 multiple times. If any manager wants to review it, I’d be more than happy to share. But based on how this place operates, I doubt anyone there truly cares.
Bottom line: This place doesn’t take responsibility for their errors. They don’t care about accuracy, and once they have your money, you’re on your own. I’ll never return, and I’ll make sure anyone I know in the car scene...
Read moreReading the reviews on this place made me feel like sharing my positive experience. Some of the negative reviews seem to be from bitter people. Overall I've always had great customer service here. My truck tires are easily 4-500 cheaper than any other big box store and most people go here for the savings. I myself am a fulltime single father. The savings on tires here equals more spent on my daughter. Even basic tires come in far cheaper than any big box store. They have always been honest with me and nothing but helpful. Even referred me to others that I felt did good honest work. Any issues have always been addressed accordingly. Being a small non big box shop, I feel your attitude will determine the service. If you want to feel like royalty and want hand held service then go to discount tire. Otherwise if you'd like savings with honest hard workers trying to make a living, then throw that tire through discounts window and head to Monkey Wheels and Tires! Is there a language barrier with some of the employees, sure. However everyone there seems to be willing to assist and there is always someone around willing to translate. I speak no Spanish at all. Despite this I had no issue communicating. Any time I had a question, if the worker did not speak English, he grabbed someone for me. Being a Phoenician native it's widely known that Arizona in general has a huge Mexican population and influence from our food to our states culture! If you can't appreciate and embrace that, then don't bother coming to this fine establishment! As for me and the 37 years I've lived here. Hands down one of the best tire shops I've been to in the valley. If you have an issue, I would bet money they didn't intentionally "screw" you over. And if you can't address the issue without taking it personal as stated before, Go to discount tire, pay the higher price and enjoy the corporate culture of the customer is always right. Where you can be disrespectful, insulting and rude to their employees knowing damn well they will get fired if they don't take it! This shop seems family owned. Come with a good attitude and you'll be treated like family despite your race or...
