Mariscos El Kora — Restaurant in Phoenix

Food was decent. Until I found some weird rubbery thing in my shrimp cocktail the waitress dismissed this as it was no big deal. The shrimp empanadas were actually really good they are served with a green salsa that was just hot but delicious. The music was too loud. I could not have a conversation with my boyfriend who literally sat across from me. We had to text each other at the table to tell each other things. I was screaming my order to the waitress since the music was so loud that she couldn't hear. Our last issue with this place was at the time of paying. I rarely carry any cash So when the waitress told me she couldn't use my card that I had to pay with cash that was a little bit of any issue. My bank will not only charge me a fee to withdraw at an ATM but the ATM also charges a fee. Well guys we were going to go withdraw money but their ATM machine was down. Literally in front of the cash register where I see other peoples cards being used and swiped... I was upset I was told I had to pay with cash and others were using their card. The waitress was RUDE when I asked her why I couldn't use my card if everyone else was.

NEVER will I return...

There's always a live band every weekend, and they are extremely loud. Definitely make sure your children can handle it (I've seen quite a few cry because it's too loud). The seafood is decent, but the sides (rice and beans) are usually bland. The proportions are decent, but can get expensive. They don't provide too many sauces; for example, I ordered oysters and all I could put on it was Tapatio. Their carne asada tacos were really good, but I would've chosen a different salsa to put on it. It's a hit or miss for drinks. The first time I went, I ordered a Michelada and it was extremely delicious. That's what made me want to come back, but the michelada was bland that second time around. If you're only into beer, they have a great deal for Corona: 6 7oz drinks for only $6! For non-alcoholic drinks, I highly recommend the agua fresca made from pineapple; it was delicious and only 3.89 I believe.

There's definitely better tasting Mariscos...

The FOOD WAS AMAZING, but the workers where very discriminating(or felt that way). They stared at me and my little cousin the WHOLE TIME WHILE WE WHERE EATING. I invited my lil cousin to enjoy the night which we ultimately did still because we naturally make sure we have a good time but it was beyond me the way they stared it's like they never seen a person with curly hair(afro). Or a mixed African American or at that just 2 people that wasn't Mexican like them.

The LADY we did have a server we applaud her she has great customer service skills thanks for being a great server I serve my self and I salute you. I will be sure to turn down all those women that stared and only ask for you.

Outside of feeling discriminated I still tipped her 15 because she treated us well and didn't make us feel uncomfortable she was on top of her game unlike the other women.

Again great food but be ready to feel discriminated if you are...
