FIRSTS TIME THERE I came here everything was great, food and service was efficient. Since my firsts experience was great of course I came back. Well on my SECOND TIME THERE when I arrived the girls in the front had advised the wait was 1hr 30min which I was fine with, well about 40 passed when 3 gentlemen came in and since I stayed standing in the front waiting for my name to be called I clearly hear when the girl told one of the gentlemen the wait was an 1hr 30min and took their name for the wait lists since the time they arrived which again I was already there for 40 min. Well after a few minutes one of the waitresses called one of the guys up and again they were like right in my face when the guys told the waitress in Spanish "si se puede, si se puede" I was like well how is this possible this guys arrived after we had been waiting for 40 min. There was also a elderly family there before us seating in the wait area that was sat after those 3 guys. So I went up to the girls in the front and asked "Why those 3 gentlemen just arriving are being seated?" she respomded they are a larger party than mine (it was justs me and my husband) I was like no I`m standing right here in front and Ive been paying attention when they came in he clearly asked you how long the wait was and gave you his name to be seated and also said party of 3 only. Her response was "Oh, well I will see why they did that" She didnt bother to asks why, she just tried to get one of the girls to seat us right away. I did not asks for management which i did regret after because who knows how many times they do this on people to actually wait on their turn.. to get this addressed which i believe it comes from someone knowing someone who works there and think they get VIP.. we all pay the same price on the menu they arent making anymore money on them, but im not that type of person to go in a restaurant and speak with management when there is problems and make a big scene. 3RD TIME THERE... I called in to order food for pick up well here my dumb self again didnt asks for management the girls didnt take my order right and usually a restaurant should confirm you ordered this and this.. well when I got into my car I noticed one plate was missing I called while in the parking lot and asked them to confirm how many gamuchilitos they charged me. she said one and I told her well I clearly told her I wanted 2, you would think that after taking a order wrong they would like to make you happy and give you your correct order she said (SARCASTICALLY VOICE) "Oh im sorry she only charged you" I asked her since my order was wrong how long would it be to wait on an item that should of been on my order she said 15-20 minutes t that point I was done I will not be coming here again by that time my food I had ordered would be cold...
Read moreMet a few friends here on Sunday afternoon and was unfortunately not super impressed. The menu is a good size, the selection of sushi is diverse and original, but the service and food quality are greatly lacking.
We had to wait for a few minutes as there were five of us and we were seated right at the front of the restaurant. This unfortunately caused us to be at the mercy of the brutal sun that came through the door every time it opened. Every time we looked up or turned around we were blinded. I think having a barrier between the door and the restaurant would help a lot with this. The inside of the restaurant was actually super cool with tons of red and black accents and televisions.
We ordered edamame and fried calamari as our appetizers. The fried calamari was a lot of breading and very little calamari. The calamari also came with onion rings, which were again more breading than anything else. The best parts of the fried calamari was actually the salad that was underneath it and the creamy mayo dip. We each ordered an individual roll and a order of shrimp fried rice to share. We decided to eat the rolls family style by passing them around--vegas roll, poison ivy roll, a couple of carne asada roll, and the minera roll. The rolls were definitely worth the $12 price as you got a good amount of food, but the quality just wasnt there. There was tons of breading, rice, and just lack of flavor and umph. The only spice came from the jalapeño cheese that was on the poison ivy roll.
The fried rice was such a disappointment as well as it was burnt--literally burnt. Everything from the shrimp, to the corn, green onions, and the rice itself was burnt looking and tasting. We brought this to the attention of the waitress and she quickly took it away and off of our bill.
Also, it took forever for us to get our food and it was not super busy. We were not really checked on during the process at all and then when we did get our food we were not checked on again. I think that if we were allowed to stay in the restaurant for the rest of the day we could have--we were virtually ignored.
There are so many other better sushi spots in Phoenix, so I do not...
Read moreWorst customer service ever. I used to love señor sushi when it first open but then it got to crazy they had wait time of 2-3 hours so I decided to stop going. 2 years later I decided to give it a second chance. So we went Saturday and it was the worst. I understand it’s Saturday and we are in the middle of pandemic but no one knows what they are doing. They have 4-5 people sitting the customers and it seems like they don’t communicate when I showed up i was told it was a 50 min wait time I decided to wait 40 minutes later I decided to go in (I was told to wait outside or in my car because due to pandemic I was not able to wait in side) since there was literally no other people waiting outside. I asked how much longer to get seated I did say that 40 minutes had passed and I was told 50 but that I notice that other people got seated and they had just arrived I was told that because I they had a smaller group than me they had to be seated first so I said ok but how much longer they said there was 6 other tables before me. I said sorry but no when I got here they told me that there was only one table ahead of me. So she said look that table is now leaving I’m going to clean it and sit you and your party I went outside to get my cami when I walked inside the girl had already sat another party at the table that “she was cleaning for me” at this point I was really irritated. The host didn’t apologize didn’t even look at me she just said we will get another table for you. I was wanted to leave but I was already there for an hour and my kids already wanted to go in and eat. It took 15 more minutes for a waiter to approach us. When the sushi arrived it was cut poorly. I don’t understand how the owner doesn’t get someone that cares to run his restaurant and get rid of everyone who works there and hire people that want to work. I don’t understand how Señor sushi was 4/5 stars it should have none. Gave it a second chance and never...
