True Few — Local services in Phoenix

I was recommended to see Laura when I asked about stylists in the area that do curly hair well. At the urge of the receptionist, due to Laura being booked out well in advance I saw someone else. I specifically asked him if she did curly hair. He said she's great.

My stylist was a gem of a person, she's kind, polite, respectful, and has a great personality. Truly a delight. I loved interacting with her. Unfortunately I don't feel she had the knowledge I was looking for in a stylist. When the cut was done, my curls were dry and had been brushed out into a poofy mess. I asked her to define them and she didn't quite seem to know what I was after. I explained that they have to be wet to get definition and explained how curly folks style our hair and I did end up with with results I wanted.

All in all my cut came out wonderfully and I got exactly what I asked for. The only reason I'm not giving a 5 star is because I felt like someone who is well versed in curly hair would know that it has to be wet to get definition. All too often when curly folks see stylists they don't properly style us and we're left in an awkward position of having to teach them. I have nothing but nice things to say about True Few!

My original appointment had to be cancelled and since the salon had an old number on file that was different to the one I booked the appointment with, I was unaware until I showed up. They were incredibly considerate of this situation and allowed me to reschedule and even threw in a compensatory deep conditioning treatment. I was (likely noticeably) disappointed that I could not get my hair cut at the scheduled time (not their fault, I just have been dealing with a string of bad luck lately) but incredibly appreciative that they would do that for me.

Tehya did an amazing job with my hair! Talked through exactly what she was doing and worked with me the whole time to make sure I was going to walk out the salon feeling great - which I did!

I was also informed that they offer two free bang trims in between your appointments, and that just goes to show that they care about their customers and don't just want you for your money, which could be said about many shops in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area.

I happily drive from LA to get my hair done by Laura and am always amazed with the outcome. The stylists at True Few are great at listening to want you want for your look (even if it may seem edgy or out of the “norm” or in the norm if that’s your thing). They are also helpful if you are indecisive about what to do w your du. I always see the best cuts and colors on their Instagram too! If you are searching for a good blonde expert, vibrants, blending natural hair color with something, Brazilian blow out, or just a cool time, this is your place! The ambiance is fun, relaxing, and there are neato things to look at. Chase will even make you a nespresso or cocktail to suit the vibe you are feeling that day while you are rocking their signature Stolla (luxury salonwear). Parking is easy which is a plus!
