I dropped in to Barze's looking for a dresser. First thing in the door, I see a sewing cabinet!! Now, I will say I am more than a little obsessed with vintage machines. The cabinet was a beauty. I could not help myself...I had to see the machine. The young lady behind the counter stepped up and cleared the top...I was holding my breath!! Oh my, it is a beautiful Singer machine. She is in amazingly good condition. When I ask if it sews, the owner steps up and says yes!! He tells me what he knows about the machine. We look at the matching stool...wow!! It contains some of the accessories. He and I talk vintage machines and he shows me some of his favorite pieces. We tell "sewing" stories of our parents and grandparents. The young lady behind the counter joins our discussion. All this time my mind is whirling trying to come up with a good excuse to explain to my husband why I am borrowing his truck to go pick up another machine. :)

Yes!! A score!! My beautiful Singer lady is coming home with me!! Her price is fantatstic!! The shared stories and genuine friendliness of the owner and the young lady will go in my memories as a fabulous day

Yes, my Lady Singer does sew and rather quite well. After a little time on the internet, I am proud to say she is a Model 15 - 90 produced between 1948 and 1954. She is known as a "farm" machine and was produced to be a work horse capable of sewing everything from clothes to harnesses.

Terrible! Lady at front counter was extremely rude, as soon as we walked in, instead of greeting us she barked at my kids to stay with their parents (we were already holding their hands). I could hardly hear her over the murder mystery story she was listening to so loudly (inappropriate).
