DISGUSTING TREATMENT OF LOYAL CUSTOMERS On Friday Sept 15 we arrived at approximately and 6:15, ordered drinks, a small salad for an appetizer, and our meal by no later than 6:30. We noticed a few other customers coming in and ordering as well. Our waitress came by once to get us another round of drinks. Once. That was the only time she came by to check on us. Around 7:15 we stopped the waitress and asked her why our meal was taking so long and we were informed that they had a large party in the back of the restaurant. I told her that the table next to us had arrived the same time as we did and they were leaving, having already eaten their food and paid. I also told her that we were displeased and would like our check so we could leave. Apparently, she informed the manager of this, in turn the manager came to us and apologized, assuring us that our food would come to us shortly. I informed the manager that we no longer wished to dine there and that we would like to pay for the service we received and leave. Then the owner came to our table and apologized, we maintained that we wished to pay what was owed so we could be on our way instead of eating the food that was not yet cooked. He told us that WE were wrong for ordering the food and wanting to leave. This was unacceptable. He told us that no table's order was placed ahead of ours and that everyone had been waiting.
I feel that if the order was put in when the waitress took it, we would have gotten it much sooner. For the owner to come out and tell us that we are wrong is inexcusable behavior and maybe he should have addressed the food order queue with the waitress. Surely a large party had reservations, for which the restaurant should've prepared. Also, I feel the manager and owner coming out to confront us about our negative experience was them stalling so our order could be brought out.
In the past, we really enjoyed coming for the food and drinks. After the way we were treated, we will not be back. I am in no need of the discount you offered as I didn't come for free food. I expected much...
Read moreMy husband and I visited Southern Char on Saturday. We ordered two appetizers, spinach and artichoke dip, which was good and boiled shrimp which was not bad, but was not good either (cooked well, but not much flavor). We each ordered streaks cooked medium rare. Mine, a fillet, was perfect. It was as good of a steak as I've ever had. My husbands though was incredibly under cooked. We like rare steak but this was still purple in the center. It was inedible so we had no choice but to send it back. We weren't upset or angry. We honestly just wanted it placed back on the grill for a minute or two but, unfortunately, our waitress was nowhere to be found. We waited and waited and she never came back to the table. Finally, I got the attention of a different waitress and asked her to please have them put it back on the grill. She took it and then the real wait began. We did not see our waitress again for at least 15, maybe 20 minutes. when she did come back, she placed the plate in front of my husband and asked him to cut into it. He told her it was fine but in actuality, it was overcooked. We just are not complainers and in this day and age of speaking up causing one to be labeled a "Karen" he told her it was fine. I gave him the other half of my steak. In addition, he had ordered beer and I tea and she didn't ask if he wanted another beer or refilled my tea. I don't care for hovering waitresses but equally don't like for them to disappear and never check to see if anything is needed. I wanted to like this restaurant too because there are not many good places to eat in Picayune as far as I know and based on my food, it had the potential, but missed the mark on service by...
Read moreAfter waiting for the hostess to seat us for about 10 minutes with no Hostess insight and no one else coming to seat us we decided to leave, if this is the type of service you're going to get before you're seated I can only imagine the poor service you'll receive once they have their hooks in you with an appetizer, I normally eat at Texas Roadhouse when I want a steak but I decided I would try our local steakhouse to support a local business, people do not waste your time coming to this restaurant, the bartender looked at us while we were standing there so did another young lady behind the bar same as people serving a large party in the rear of the restaurant, not one of them took a minute out of their time to even speak to us or tell us someone will be with us shortly, I guarantee you this will be the last time I entered this restaurant and I will be sure to tell everyone I know of the experience I had here tonight because there's no excuse for this...
