DIY Cabinets, Granite and Lighting — Local services in Picayune

After my husband and I purchased our fixer upper home in March 2022 we were stressed to the max about updating the house. We completely gutted the kitchen to get the biggest project out of the way. We then began looking into cabinet companies near us. A coworker recommended GTM who did her cabinets, so I tried them first. After going up there and talking to one of the workers and picking out exactly what we wanted, we were promised a call from the owner that never came. Over the next several weeks, I tried repeatedly to find out if they would be able to do the cabinets and to this day never received a response. Thank goodness for that or I wouldn't have gone to DIY!!! I honestly can't say enough good things about DIY. I was helped immediately by Angel and was able to speak to the owner Randy as well. He promised to email me the designs in a few days and was true to his word. I had everything picked out and measurements for the kitchen scheduled that following Monday all in less than 30 minutes. Due to some issues on our end, it took longer than we planned to get everything finished. Randy and the installers were wonderful and understanding through all of this. They would have had them finished much sooner if not for some snags we ran into. Bobby Savoie did an awesome job getting the cabinets together and installing everything. I'd seriously call him a craftsman instead of a contractor because of how beautiful these cabinets are. I am just so in love with these cabinets and countertops. If you’re looking for cheap, pitted and broken manufactured granite countertops then DIY is your place to shop. If you want your new granite countertop installed with a crack in front of the sink, epoxy smeared all around the seams and left unsealed then DIY is the place for you. If you don’t mind your brand new kitchen floor gouged with angle iron you’re in the right place. Randy is all smiles while he is taking your money, but if there is a problem he will make sure it’s your fault. I had to get someone from another stone shop to try to fix their shoddy work and now I get to call the floor people to see what can be done about my gouged floor. Also the opening in the granite for the stove is less than 30 inches. I don’t know if I can get a stove in the space. I may have to get the new company to trim the granite too. And you should probably put your tools away because my pliers were on the job site that morning and that evening they disappeared. I couldn’t be more...

Not only did the new granite countertop transform my kitchen, but the customer service has been exceptional. From Bryan coming to measure, plus assisting with a small flaw, to the girls at the front desk, our experience has been easy and quick. But, I have to give an excellent rating to Chris, who cut and applied the stone. His respectfulness is rarely found in today’s business world.
