I'm extremely dissatisfied with the recent service I received at Maureen's. Despite clearly expressing my desire for a FULL solid blonde bleach out, I left the salon with orange/brassy hair that is nothing close to what I requested, and only got worse as days went on and the toner faded. Despite providing reference images and discussing my expectations, the outcome was a complete disappointment. Nicole, my stylist, failed to deliver the desired result and even though I was clear that I wanted a SOLID blonde, I was left with orange/yellow hair with more blonde tones on the bottom. It's evident that there was a lack of expertise in achieving the desired blonde and in getting the opinions of other stylists, although my hair is naturally pretty dark, Nicole should have noted that and made effort to put more focus at the roots to make sure it blends with the rest of my hair.
To make matters worse, the salon's customer service is equally disappointing. Despite my dissatisfaction and the obvious error in their service, they are refusing to provide even a PARTIAL refund. Instead, they said I can come back in for a correction, but who would want to come back to a place that messed up in the first place? This lack of accountability and refusal to rectify their mistake is unacceptable and has not only left me frustrated, but also forced me to seek out additional treatments to correct the botched result and spend even more money. I would strongly advise against trusting Maureen's with your hair if you expect professional service, let alone fair resolution in the event of a mistake. Not bad right? So I arrived and Karen seemed friendly enough. She told me that someone had been squeezed into her schedule before me (I had an appointment I was not a walk-in). But she said that the lady was 15 minutes late. So she went ahead and had my hair washed as she got ready to cut my hair. I just wanted a simple cut. I have very short hair and I always get a basic faux hawk. Right as she was about to cut my hair the woman who was late arrived. In my mind it would've made sense to make this woman wait until I was done getting my hair cut. But instead Karen had one of the ladies wash the woman's hair and seated her right behind us. After that Karen pretty much ignored me and was talking to the woman the entire time while sloppily doing my hair. And on top of it Karen was being so extremely rough while using the clippers on my head. She actually rubbed so hard that I had cuts and scabs on the back of my head afterwards. It hurt so bad! Then she quickly rushed me to the front and barely gave me another look. Then they told me that I owed them $50 for the haircut!?!?!?! She rushed through a 2.5 hr process in 45 minutes. Iām left with frizzy, unmanageable hair. I questioned the rush & she said my last stylist just talked too much. I asked why she didnāt use a bonding spray - she said āoh I can, but it just makes it last longerā. āYou donāt need itā.. I did not get hair wet after bbl for 3 days to ensure best set process. Nothing but frizz and tears on day 4. So sorry that I didnāt go with the tech that left. I should have complained at the counter, but gave it a few days to make sure before sending this review. This was a total rip off that was rushed and done without care. Please research your options before dropping several hundred dollars on a poor service.
