We had known about this place for a while. However, we only had the opportunity to try it last week for dinner. We visited again for dinner last night.
The first time we dined here, we had the veg samosa, veg pakora, chicken biryani, chicken tikka masala, and plain naan.
Veg samosas and pakoras were great. Not into mint/corriander chutney but the tamarind chutney was awesome.
I often times eat foods that are hot in terms of spice. So, I ordered the biryani as "medium". It was so hot, I couldn't finish it and it was really a miserable experience. However, that was MY fault. I should have tried it mild first. I had to throw almost all of it away.
The tikka masala was mild for my wife and it was excellent.
The second time we dined here, we had paneer pakora, chicken biryani (mild), baigan bharta (mild), tandoori chicken (mild), and plan naan.
The biryani was perfect for me this time with it being "mild". I finished the entire thing. The baigan bharta was perfect also, this is one of my favorite Indian dishes.
The tandoori chicken was plentiful, well cooked but juicy, and perfectly spiced.
We will definitely be coming back here again as long as they maintain this level of quality in the food. It was a bit busy on Saturday night vs. Sunday night.
One thing I would recommend to the owners, your front door has some kind of vacuum lock with the HVAC (?) there was a couple waiting outside who were unable to open the door. Also, when we left, my wife couldn't even push the door open. You need to fix...
Read moreWe were recently in the area and had a craving for Indian food and found this newly opened joint and did a take out. It had a good menu with lots of choices specially as my daughter is vegetarian. For appetizers we tried the vegetarian samosa and aloo tikki, for our entree we ordered shahi navratan korma, palak paneer and dal makhani and for our bread basket we got the chili garlic naan, onion kulcha and tawa roti and for rice we tried the vegetarian biryani. All the food items we ordered were delicious. Normally I go to Edison for my Indian food “fix” but this new restaurant was a great risk that had very authentic and flavorful results. I would highly recommend giving this hidden jewel a try if you are in the area and craving some good Indian food. This is now on my list of go to places for great Indian food. The service was also very prompt...
Read moreThis spot was a welcome surprise. Came here on Christmas Day for lunch and it was pretty quiet. My family and I sampled a huge variety of appetizers, entrees, breads, and drinks. Everything tasted pretty good and I'd come back without question for the food. The biggest problem was the service. While the younger gentleman and the cook were very nice, the woman who was mainly working the tables was very passive aggressive. She would throw things onto our table and then tell us to pass things around on our own. Whether she was trying to be rude or not, it was very off-putting. We heard another table complaining about the same. I hope that she's given more training on what being a waiter entails.
Service issues aside, the food was great and...
