First time going there was yesterday. My girl and I showed up for dinner and we were seated quickly. The server was very quiet and overly reserved. When we ordered, I suggested getting the basics to try out because if they basics aren't good, the specialties won't be either. Trying the basic sushi rolls were nothing special. The sashimi was room temp and was not high quality. The seaweed wrap was overly chewey, spicy mayo looked like regular mayo with a hint of red dye, and my girl found two pin bones in her sushi rolls.
This was the positive half of our experience.
The service was way less than lacking. The girl we had as our server acted socially awkward, seemed overwhelmed when the restaurant was not packed (we showed up just before dinner rush), made a fuss about taking our next order, made weird gestures when taking our plates, and literally exclaimed " I'm serving so you should be helping me out!". She stopped by our table only twice, and we still were in need of service having to ask another server for things we were missing/ran out of.
Another gentleman who seemed to be the manager literally brushed me off when I was making a request about our order in mid sentence. He did come back to give an answer, but with a cold shoulder vibe.
I don't have much to say about the atmosphere as it was pretty mundane. You could find the same decor at just about any restaurant. Its location was in a shopping center that happened to feature multiple restaurants with different exotic cuisines clustered together, which was pretty cool.
Overall, I'd give this experience a 4/10 for the lesser quality sushi and the less than bare minimum service. If your food ain't great, your service has to be, and for the price you pay, they struck out.
For sushi the same or lesser priced, you'd be better off going to Chaiyo, Hibachi, or even better Sakura Japanese Restaurant; which is in the same area with better quality sushi, service, and atmosphere at a slightly cheaper price.
P.S. I noticed a lot of college kids & GenZ'ers dinning/serving there, which is probably what gave the waitstaff such a casual vibe. However, that borders on unprofessional when servers are having full-blown conversations while you've tried to flag one down for 15 minutes to get a water refill.

Read moreI've been twice now, and everything about this place appeals to me. Modern decor, good lights and upbeat, but not invasive, music. Clean tables and floors, and a very friendly staff (including, I think, the owner/manager, who really gives good service!). The AYCE Sushi lunch (sans sashimi, for even more of a discount) is an absolute steal, and the service is quick both during a lunch rush and later towards their break (They close between lunch and dinner on weekdays, so time your trip appropriately.) The sushi artists are very clever, and all the rolls I've tried have been exceptional, both in design and taste combinations (Go for the Xtreme, it's a fun and delicious roll!) I wasn't as impressed with the Bento, but it's a fast and cost efficient lunch, where you get just as much variety as if you ordered straight off the menu. I am just more into the rolls. Also, if you like hot tea, they have an excellent green tea blend that is just perfect with lunch. All in all, a nice addition to the Pike Creek corridor and a good fit for my...
