I bought a 2010 Toyota Prius in the area and was looking for a local shop to get the following done:
-remote start -backup camera -android auto -updated indoor LED lights (bought on AZN) -front & rear dash cams with 24 hr monitoring (bought on AZN) -power inverter (bought on AZN)
I originally went to CineMagic but it was very difficult to locate and once I did no one was there during business hours. I googled for the next closest shop and found Honeywell Technologies.
I arrived on Tuesday and was helped immediately by Dan. After discussing my needs & the equipment I brought with me, he gave me a reasonable estimate and I put down a deposit to complete the work on Thursday.
I dropped the car off Thursday morning. Unfortunately it took an extra half day to install everything but I understand because it was a lot for one car! I had taken a Lyft to the shop to get there before they closed Thursday but since the car needed more time, Dan let me keep the car there overnight and he offered and then gave me a ride back to my hotel!
He called Fri afternoon and let me know everything was done. I arrived and paid my bill and then Dan took me to the car to show me and walk me through everything.
The price I ended up paying was close to the original estimate - Dan was transparent and communicative during the entire process, and he even worked some of the labor charges in my favor. There was one charge (~ $95; amp kit?) that wasn't included in the original estimate, but it was needed due to me not providing correct supplies for installing the inverter.
I'm pleasantly surprised by the entire transaction, considering they had a 3.7 star rating on google. I'm very glad that I ended up here and I would go back if I lived in the area.
One minor note: the google listing mentions they are LGBTQ+ friendly and while I didn't experience otherwise, I did notice the shop has a ton of Trump memorabilia which is incongruent with that stance. Ultimately it wasn't a deal breaker for me, and I suspect it won't be for others as it seems to be common in Pittsburgh area for businesses to promote a candidate, but I mention it in case it matters to anyone considering this shop.
Thanks Dan and the Team at Honeywell Technologies - I appreciate your work and...
Read moreI needed a remote starter for my Kia. I made an appointment at Honey Well in Wexford. Dan took my information. He was very kind. When I got there Dan came to see me himself. They had a relaxing waiting area. For though they were very busy, he made time for me to talk and see if I had questions. I did and he sat with me and explained everything I needed to know. I was treated with kindness and respect. I could tell he was the real deal. A person who cares about his customers and making sure everything was okay. Every person who came in and even people he spoke to on the phone. Every one was treated like they mattered. People like Dan are what make the world a better place and he gives you a piece of mind. Thank you Dan and your team for the wonderful job and for being such a kind person. I will recommend you to anyone looking for a starter. ...
Read moreHands down, worst customer service experience in my life. I had a simple request for a stereo installation that would give me Android auto and work with my back up camera on my grand Cherokee. After the owner installed the second head unit, that was incorrect, he proceeded to scream at me in his shop in front of his front desk worker, I did not entertain this. He gave me an option to buy the stereo he installed and wait for the correct one or he would install the stock stereo. I took the aftermarket stereo, attempted to contact months later about the correct head unit but to no avail. On top of all of this I have multiple interior panels that are broken because of his hap hazard installation, on the dash and in the trunk area. I have many years of experience in retail and I've never felt the need to leave a bad review anywhere...
