H.D. Dudt Bakery — Restaurant in Pine Township

This bakery's hours are basic, when most people are working. I work full time, and have children, so it is important to me to be able to look at a website before ordering. (huge time-saver.) However, I understand some are just not technology savvy. I wanted to order a cake for my parents 30th wedding anniversary, and I like to support local businesses. I also like to learn a businesses back story before supporting them, which is typically featured online. Their website has been under construction for weeks... so I tired calling the phone number listed on google, during their business hours, multiple times, and no one ever answered. I expressed this concern to the bakery on instagram because it was the only method of getting a hold of them.. and they very rudely replied, stating who cares, they don't do online ordering anyways... then BLOCKED ME. When I worked in customer service as a child, this treatment towards any customer would NEVER fly. Incredibly unprofessional. After reading many other google reviews, this place seems to be going under. Hopefully something better will be built in their current residency. Some business’s don’t even deserve to be open! My better half’s birthday cake came from these morons. Who not only baked the absolute WORST (driest) white cake we have EVER had!! Which by the the way we would have totally forgiven had they simply handled First Our Phone call to which the manager whined “well how much did u eat?” And tell us to bring the remaining part back which FYI was 3/4 of the cake because NOBODY at the birthday party LIKED the dang cake!!! So we took it back per their request today. The manager there (what an ass!) “well u you ate over half the cake” bull.... lady there First was 3/4 of this cake left, “well it wasn’t a very expensive cake” Your a damn bakery and $18 for a cake as flipping SMALL as this Hockey Puck was not fit even for a Penguins hockey game is expensive to someone!! Guess what they did they gave may better half an $8 certificate. $8. How about a cake that is actually baked RIGHT and how about REAL customer service and not arrogant managers?!!!! Is THAT really “TO MUCH” to ask?!!!! This is one large family never coming here...

Dudt’s Bakery not only has very delicious products, they are also very kind. I ordered five dozen cupcakes for my granddaughter’s graduation party. She wanted complicated variety so I printed the specifics on a post-it note and gave to Tina when placed the order. On bottom wrote date and time for pick-up. Tina wrote up the order and read it back to me. She happened to mention she had a kind boss Becky, which was nice to hear. When my daughter went to pick up the cupcakes afternoon before graduation party, she was told they didn’t have that order for that day. Tring to figure out what happened, Tina found pick-up date was June 29 - not May 29. Before they even knew I had kept the post-it note and I’m the one who stupidly wrote June 29 instead of May 29, Tina called her boss and the crew came in even earlier next morning and filled the order.
