At 30 years old I decided to pursue a career in healthcare. My background is in marketing so I have zero professional experience in the medical field. I highly recommend the two week CNA course; it was just enough time for me to comfortably pace my studying. I had a month between the course and my FL CNA Exam (FL CNAE) during which I didnāt study, but because I really learned the material throughout the course I only had to refresh a little once I got my test date. I got 48/50 on my written and 100% on the skills.
Brandy is one of the BEST teachers Iāve ever had, her command over a room is unlike anything Iāve seen before. Sheās able to provide valuable insight into the profession with specific stories from her extensive experience. She made us laugh everyday while also impressing upon us the importance of seeing residents as people, and how it is our duty to provide them with compassionate care. When I started this course, I saw working as a CNA as just a necessary step towards becoming a nurse; after learning from Brandy I can say that Iām actually excited about the role.
Before I even started the course I had trouble registering myself for the FL CNAE, and STI was very helpful over the phone. Every staff member Iāve interacted with has been efficient and polite. The facility is clean, you get to practice all the skills with accurate beds/materials/mannequins, and being able to take the exam just next door was a lot less nerve wracking than going somewhere Iāve never been.
Additionally, many of the students in my class already work in healthcare so I was able to get advice from them on good employers in the area! My background check for the CNAE got lost, but having other students going through the process at the same time provided invaluable reference points on when I needed to follow up. I felt very supported and that the cost was worth the valueāwhich is why I will be taking their CPR course also, and utilizing their CEU package for my future nursing license renewals. Cannot recommend Southern Technical...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI am very pleased to have chosen STI to complete my Phlebotomy certification. The facility has a very clean and organized presence. The classroom setting is well equipped. The front desk staff as well as the instructors are professional, organized, kind and knowledgeable. I just completed my Phlebotomy course successfully. I got my certification and I also passed the NHA Exam! I was very fortunate to have Ms. Crystal as my instructor. She is wonderful as an instructor and as a person. Although, I am very interested in starting a career in the medical field, being that my career of 40 years has been in banking/client service, I was scared and doubtful. However, having Ms. Crystal as my instructor turned my fears into excitement about joining this beautiful and meaningful career. Ms. Crystal is very knowledgeable, kind, caring, she does everything she possibly can to help her students do well. In her style of teaching she applies multiple very effective techniques in a very spontaneous way, including making it a fun experience and it all makes a WORLD of difference in the learning process. You will āLEARN AND LAUGHā in the classroom. THANK YOU Ms. Crystal for the wonderful instructor and the kind person you are!!! Southern Technical Institute is THE BEST school to get your Phlebotomy certification or any certification on any of the...

10/10 I will forever recommend. I took all of the classes except for the EKG (Iāll do that later lol) letās talk about the staff.
VAN IS AWESOMEEEE! She is on top of everything! She replyās back to emails SO quick.
JOE IS COOL! I met him once, mostly because I take the night classes, BUT he replies to emails super duper fast!
BRANDY IS AMAZING I PASSED MY CNA WITH FLYING COLORS!! She helps you remember everything and is very animated and I just love her.
CRYSTAL IS AMAZINGGGGG! The patience this lady has with me is amazing. She was not only my CPR instructor BUT she is my phlebotomy instructor. Even if you feel like you are having a hard time, she takes the time to remind you that you can do it and goes over anything you need help with. She gives one on one time if you need it. I take night classes because itās just easier for me, but if I did decide to take a morning class, itās mirrored. I take the NHA exam...
