I am VERY, VERY upset. I bought a gun from Fort Mills and attempted to have it shipped to Huntsville, AL for an anniversary present for my husband. I started this process on Wednesday, 9/14/22 telling the Cabela’s employee, Josh, that I am a travel nurse, driving from Oregon to Alabama, and that I wanted this gun IN ALABAMA for my husband on Friday, Saturday at the latest. Josh told me we could do this overnight delivery. Josh also told me I would have to purchase gift cards for purchase of this gun (because they can’t accept debit cards) and I could email them to him. He told me that he would call me when he got the email about the gift cards. I ended up calling back because I did NOT get a return phone call and another employee informed me Josh had already left for the night after he, Josh, had told me that he would be there until 9pm. I FINALLY got a return call the next morning and Josh stated he “forgot” to call me back and as it turned out, that I couldn’t email him the gift cards because it’s against policy so I had to pull over to a rest stop, repurchase the gift cards, wait for an email with the gift card information, and read off the numbers to Josh BEFORE 2pm (eastern time) so I could get this gun shipped out overnight to Huntsville to get it on Friday. This was at 11:37am Thursday morning. Well, I called the store in Huntsville on Friday and surprise, the gun wasn’t there. I didn’t get a tracking number or anything from the Fort Mills store stating that I had even purchased the gun. Come to find out, the gun didn’t even LEAVE Fort Mills until Friday afternoon and it took the Huntsville store calling so I could find out the tracking number. The gun did not arrive in Huntsville until Monday afternoon and then I still didn’t get a call that it was even here. My husband and I drove to the Huntsville store on Tuesday, 9/20/22, (6 DAYS FOR AN OVERNIGHT DELIVERY!!!) and were able to pick up the gun. I am SO VERY ANGRY!! This was a 15 year anniversary present for my husband. I have gotten no call apologizing for the mess up. No call even acknowledging...
Read moreJust bought a 9200.00 dollar tracker 600 ATV. These are made for bass pro shops by a manufacturer called Artic Cat. I just went to order some spare parts online and was told by multiple online sites including country cat that the parts I was looking for were no longer available. I was floored this is a brand new machine. I called back got someone on the phone from the site and they said that Textron the owner of Artic Cat had closed Artic Cat indefinitely and they could not get parts. They sent me a copy of a internal memo stating the closure dated 11/13/24. I bought my Tracker ATV on 12/27/27 it was not disclosed to me from any of several employees at bass pro that Artic Cat had gone out of business. Including the parts guy I spoke too there. Had I known of the closure of Artic Cat I would have bought a Honda Rancher. I feel misled by bass pro on this. I just bought a online part for my 2002 existing old Honda rancher but can't buy a online part from multiple sites for a brand new Tracker by Artic Cat. I guess I just flushed 10k down the toilet. I assume it wasn't disclosed as they want to sell their remaining inventory. Honestly, I am very disappointed and find it very disturbing I wasn't informed of the closure of Artic cat. Having shopped at bass pro for years I had expected better. I did speak with a manager about this and he said they were aware of the closure but didn't feel the need to discuss it with customers. Again, floored by that as a customer I should have been informed as this is a huge investment for my family. I blindly trusted bass pro on the purchase without doing research. There are multiple articles online about this.
Shame on you bass pro.
PLEASE DONT BUY A TRACKER ATV AS ARTIC CAT IS OUT...
Read moreAwful place, today takes the cake. Went to buy either an S&W 642 or Glock 43 for pocket carry and also a 12 ga shotgun. These employees don't want to sell anything. I waited and waited at the gun counter, nobody else being waited on and 4 idiots behind the counter talking like they were on lunch break. Elderly fellow finally helped a little but couldn't show me the two side by side. He said he could only get one out at a time. I guess i understand but what he could have done was carried one pistol and held it under the counter beside the other so i could at least visually see the comparison. I made my mind up on the 642. Elderly salesman wouldn't help me find a holster, just sent me in the direction of where yall keep those. When I asked the employee manning the ammo he was vague and just said he didn't think they had a holster for that gun. HOW ABOUT LOOK AT YOUR INVENTORY ONLINE AND SEE WHAT YOU HAVE IN STOCK THERE AT THE STORE YOUR WASTING AIR WORKING IN! Finally I decided to forget a holster for now and just purchase the 642 and leave. GUESS WHAT, I WENT BACK TO THE COUNTER AND THE LUNCH GANG Wouldn't BREAK UP THEIR CONVERSATION TO CHECK ME OUT! I wouldn't go back to this Cabelas if plastic worms were 1/2 off and you got a free Ranger bass boat with the purchase of 2 packs. BTW, there was this pretty dark-haired girl there today selling vacation packages just to the right of the gun section. She flagged me down and was trying to sell me a vacation package. I almost bit because she was so good at what she was doing, and it was a good deal. MOVE HER BEHIND THAT GUN COUNTER IF YOU WANT TO SELL FIREARMS EFFICIENTLY! I never write reviews but I've never been so disappointed in what should have been a good purchasing experience...
