Best Buy used to be my very favorite place to shop for electronics. I never missed a Best Buy Grand Opening and but many computers and Home Entertainment Systems including televisions from them over the years. But, lately Best Buy definitely has not got the best prices or service. I hate to say this I really do. The store in Chico when I was living there up until about a month ago it's just full of people that were trying to upsell me when I knew what I wanted already. This past Saturday I went to the Best Buy in Pinole California. With cash in my pocket I went there to buy a computer as I've started a new job and need a new laptop. The things that I saw on the internet on sale didn't seem to exist there. The first person that approached me was also the only person that approached me I told him when I was looking for and he tried to upsell me to computers that were twice the price or more! When I found the computer that I wanted to buy there were actually two of them that were in the price range I wanted to be in.. it took me 20 minutes to find somebody to talk to about the computer on display and that I wanted one of the two. I noticed that the display model did not work correctly. The touchpad was inoperable so there was no way I was going to buy an open box floor model that didn't work. The young woman that was talking to me finally told me that we don't have either of the ones you're interested in and I don't work in this department so I don't have any more answers for you. Now, just maybe it was too close to Christmas to be shopping! But, I decided to walk through the store and found that almost all the shelves were bare. Anything I was interested in and not just in the computer section did not exist in the store. So after spending 45 to 60 minutes in the store shopping for things that just did not exist there even though the website said pick up in Pinole today.. I left the store with all my cash in my pocket and no packages to carry home. The shelves are bare and the store was a bit dirty which was strange for Best Buy! My old favorite store has changed so much over the past 10 years! So, after managing many businesses on my own.. maybe I should consider becoming management staff at my old favorite Electronics chain stores. Hey Best Buy! If you're looking for some great management, even though I'm paid very well doing what I'm doing.. maybe I would consider coming to work for you and help you become my favorite electronic store chain again! I had an appointment to have a remote start installed. I had to wait almost a month for an appointment.
At the appointment, the Technician said I had too many lights on my dashboard for him to work on. I quickly laughed and explained what that the lights were: a maintenance light for an oil change, an engine light (for a small emission leak), VSC/traction control was off (older Toyota's VCS turn off when an engine light goes off) and a blinking TPS sensor. He pretty much told me that my vehicle was broken because my dashboard was "lit up like a Christmas tree" and had to be taken to a professional because my starter was probably gonna break. What??? I had to explain to a TECHNICIAN that none of those things have to do with the starter system and I actually had a OBD reader in the vehicle and I could show him. He told me maybe my OBD reader was out of calibration. I asked him to maybe use his to verify. He said he can't and I had to take the vehicle to a professional and he could recommend a few places. I wouldn't be upset if it was a normal joe who didn't know anything about cars and I'm by no means an expert either but I can't believe a automobile Tech told me a TPS sensor and an emissions leak meant my starter was broken and that's why he couldn't install a remote start. He didn't try to verify with their OBD reader or have someone else look at it and just kept saying for me to come back after a professional verifies what I was saying. I'm not sure if he didn't want to work on it or was just having a bad day or what but that was completely unacceptable. Completely off putting and unprofessional 0/10. Not the regular store- just the auto part/geek squad department of Bestbuy which is why I bumped it up it to 2/5 stars. I'll be still shopping here once in awhile but I'll be taking my auto electronics somewhere else where they know...

I wanted to believe it, but deep down, I knew something was terribly wrong. Desperate for answers, I rushed across the street to my neighbors, practically begging them to check their cameras. My hands were trembling as I waited for them to pull up the footage, hoping against hope that maybe, just maybe, theyād caught something Iād missed. But noāthey shook their heads, their faces blank with confusion. No record, no trace, nothing. It was like the package had vanished into thin air. That same day, I stormed into Best Buyās chat support, my frustration boiling over. Iād already jumped through every hoop theyād askedāevery form filled, every detail triple-checkedāand still, I had nothing to show for it. They tried to smooth things over, promising me a refund and a replacement item I could pick up in-store the very next day, March 26th. I clung to that shred of hope, counting the hours. But when I showed up, buzzing with anticipation? Nothing. Empty-handed again. Fuming, I fired off another message to the chat. They fed me more assurances, swearing up and down that the item would be there, that I just had to trust them. I didāI really tried to. But now itās March 31st, and Iām still sitting here, staring at my empty porch, my patience shredded, my trust shattered. Whereās my package? Whereās their promise? Iām done waiting.
