The Original Mels Diner — Restaurant in Pinole

First and last time. 20 minutes to get a server (with only 5 or 6 tables seated abs and at least 2 servers working and hella other employees there). Took another 10 minutes to get a salad. Waited and waited for my milkshake to come, nothing...........................................20 whole minutes later we are brought out our food. I got the meatloaf, which was mediocre and tasted very similar to a TV dinner maybe like hungry man or something, but it definitely wasn't restaurant-quality and it definitely wasn't made in that kitchen. And on top of being second-rate food, it was not even hot and it puzzled me how steam was still rising from my plate but nothing was hot enough to have steam coming from it. How do you manufacture fake Steam. My partner ordered the rib-eye cooked medium and it was brought overcooked it was actually well done and it wasn't hot either, how do you do that? The best thing on my plate was the three pieces of broccoli that I found in what was called mixed vegetables, but it was really just over steamed squash with three pieces of broccoli in it. I used mels new app for the first time and it shows how much effort is put into their customers. I was waiting on curbside parking space and I noticed my order status said picked up. I didn’t think nothing of it since it was my first time using the app and I wasn’t informed that my order was ready. So I waited almost 10 minutes until I decided to get off and see why it was talking long. Well, I was told that it was the fact that the receipt had no car information. I explained that the app didn’t give me an option (get that fixed) and told him if you see a car parked in a curbside parking space they should’ve approached the vehicle to see if they are waiting for something. Keep in mind I was the only person waiting for pickup and there was a large bag sitting there with moisture in the interior of the bag. At least act like you want to go to work, at least...

Food Pretty expected for what they were offering, Nothing they messed up on with the sunny-side up eggs, country potatoes, and ribeye steak.

Service Server was incredibly accommodating and genial. She was knowledgeable about the menu, and even had a spare AI steak bottle in her apron pocket!

To be honest, I wasn't impressed with the first Mel's I went to on Sunday since they took so long to get me to table and weren't that friendly. I decided to try out the Mel's in Pinole since I was in an exploratory mood since my Los Angeles trip driving there and driving home on Friday and Saturday. At the Pinole location, the employees were quick to find a table for me, answer my questions, and to get my transaction going through.
