Sizzler — Restaurant in Pinole

Very disappointed with the quality of the food and service. When we 1st arrived, there was one person in line to get help with their order. Nobody was at the counter. I thought maybe they were on break. Finally someone arrived and it took 15 minutes for us to be seated. Not sure what the delay was but it is what it was. All we ordered was the salad bar and a couple of drinks. The lettuce was nice and cold (which is why I’m giving a very generous two star) but was already browning. The toppings looked a few days old and the salad dressings were all out as well. The soup was out and the taco bar fixing was out. The desert table looked like a total disaster. Not appealing at all. My GF even pointed out the at the person tending the salad bar was using the same rag to clean the counter and then the food containers. Very unsettling. She couldn’t eat her salad after seeing that. I’m very surprised that the health department has not shut this restaurant down. I’m sure it’s only open because they offer a 15% senior discount because that’s who most of the patrons were in the place eating. It wasn’t busy and I just couldn’t believe the lack of attention to detail and cleanliness. It’s not like it was a cheap meal either. It cost close to $52 for two which included tip. I haven’t been to a sizzler in well over 20 years and will never step foot in one ever again. Just glad I didn’t bring my whole family with me. I would’ve spent well over $200 and definitely demanded my money back. I used to love this location. Not sure how I'm feeling after yesterday's visit. They no longer have beer and wine. The person at the counter also told us they didn't have chicken wings on the salad bar. Salad bar does not look exciting and is bland. There used to be more selection, also no kore spaghetti or tacos?!?!? No more chocolate moose or any desert type stuff on the salad bar. I had a bowtie pasta that had no flavor whatsoever. The chicken wings were kinda dry (didn't the cashier tell me they don't have chicken wings?!?). My husband ordered double lobster tails and garlic mashed potatoes. While the lobsters were cooked perfectly, those potatoes were inedible. It was the sauce indeed, what is that horrible lemony sauce you put on those mashed potatoes? Please stop doing this. Neither of us could eat it. I had the ribs and baked potato. They've done something different to the ribs, the rub looks different for sure, I saw lots of pepper and other seasonings on them. Still, they were good and tender and my baked potato was delicious. Our waitress wasn't good, I'm sorry. No refill, brought napkins only once, no salt or pepper, never able to ask for more cheese toast or anything because she hardly came around, and then when she did finally appear at the end our our meal, she just wanted to hurry up and clear the table. I asked for a box for my leftover ribs and baked potato. Waited a good 12 mins while she helped one other table and then never returned.. This $70 visit left a bad taste in...

Order there tri-tip special with all fixing suppose to be a mound of meat onions on top plus salad all u can eat! First off the mound of meat is on top of mashed potatoes there were more mushrooms than meat for $11. Something this dish was a Joke plus just to get water refills I waited and waited until I had to go to the counter for a refill. Also icecream machine was putting out runny icecream as it was like water.. Plus this at a time when it's not even 12pm in the afternoon.. The salad was good I do say that for what they offer! But selections could be improved ... Thankfully there's Golden Corral coming to Concord... and for a little more Mels is up the street..... Follow up this place hasn't changed one bit! I order there bacon hamburger with cheese and soda and water ..... First the Hamburger I ordered didn't come with bacon .... waitress had to go back that took 10 minutes at the most! Mean time the hamburger stone cold ... plus had to tell them twice to bring mayonnaise mustard hot sauce... Second and this was my mistake giving the waitress a tip after that the service went out the window! Should have kept the tip in my wallet... Third and final the salad was good but just having chicken deep fried and rice and taco meat.. Oh an don't forget the icecream machine which is yogurt anyway! There was only one slot working .....
