I recently bought some products from this store. At checkout, the cashier told me my “membership” was not activated and offered to help me activate it. I am not a regular customer of GNC and had only made a purchase in another GNC store a couple of years ago, so I agreed. However, I later realized that she had signed me up for the highest tier of membership, which requires an annual fee, without explaining this to me. When I questioned the extra charge, she told me the membership required a “deposit” that I could use toward future purchases at any GNC store.
