ACE is indeed the place with the Helpful Hardware Folks! This one in Placentia is huge! And i was really impressed both times that I've been there. It has pretty much everything I could think of needing for home improvement. I was there to get some flowers, plant food, irrigation supplies, and a few other things (because there's always something else to find!). I was truly impressed with all of the sales team members I met. When I had to make a return, it was completely painless and easy! The store was really incredibly clean and easy to navigate. Big custom signs were easy to read from far away, and they have extensive selections of products that I haven't seen elsewhere. I went during a slow time of the day, both on the first day and the second that I was there, and it was so easy to find what i was looking for. All of the people and sales members I encountered were very helpful, asked if I needed help, and were friendly and didn't rush me at all! I felt comfortable in the store even though I had never been there before, and the friendly and conversant staff made it a great experience. There are eye-catching displays, neat and tidy isles, easy to navigate sections, and extensive choices for all of your home improvement needs. Soil was just a few dollars more than other big box stores I know of, but I like supporting small businesses where possible, so I wasn't put off by the marginally higher prices in some specific things. They have more space, and thus more product than other Ace locations I've been to. I recently became consumed by the idea of upgrading my dinky little Weber Go Anywhere to something that could handle more than 3-4 pieces of meat at once. Something more capable and practical and that's when I knew I wanted a 22" Weber Kettle.

The Ace Hardware app said the Placentia location had a black one available, so I drove down very excited for my new toy.

Unfortunately the app was inaccurate and they only had the other colors which were more costly. The manager (who I never personally spoke to) approved a 10% discount to essentially match the cost of the black one. Super appreciative of them for doing that!

Raul unfortunately had to grab a ladder and get one from the shelf thinking it was the black one, but it was a blue one. I opted for the green floor model. While I was paying, my wife was inspecting it and noticed it wasn't closing properly. So the staff had to go through the trouble of exchanging it for another one.

All in all, I felt bad for being difficult, but everyone that helped us was so helpful and nice. I've already grilled up 3 ribeyes, 8 burger patties, and smoked a pack of drumsticks in 24 hours since I got this thing! I...

Whether I’m looking for tools, plumbing parts, gardening supplies, or just advice on a small home project, I can count on someone walking me through the options patiently.

The store is clean, well-organized, and fully stocked with a surprisingly wide variety of items for such a neighborhood location. I’ve found specialty screws, replacement lightbulbs, organic soil, and even great seasonal deals on outdoor equipment. They often carry things I can’t find at the big box stores.

One thing I really appreciate is how personalized the service is—unlike larger chains, the employees here remember repeat customers and give thoughtful recommendations. I recently needed help finding the right fittings for a leaky hose, and not only did they have it in stock, but they also explained exactly how to install it.
