Field's Fabrics — Local services in Plainfield Charter Township

This was my first experience shopping at a Field's Fabrics. I first discovered Field's through the All Michigan Shop Hop 2025. I don't think we have any Field's stores nearby where I live, but I may have to take a trip back here again when I'm in need of a large selection for sewing or crafting projects, now that JoAnn Fabrics is closing. Field's has everything!! I am specifically looking for honeybee-related fabric for a Shop Hop quilt, and I was lucky enough to find ONE geometric patterned fat quarter at the bottom of one of the discount bins that reminds me of honeycomb! Additionally, it's my favorite color - neon green. 💚 It's going to give an awesome pop of color in my honeybee quilt. There were a few other shop hoppers in the store when I was checking out, and none of us could find the Hopper anywhere. I made a comment that they had hidden it really well, and one of the ladies said "Oh, really? He's in plain sight!" I unfortunately had a disappointing interaction with one of the employees. There were rude things said to me (a customer) about another customer's appearance who entered the store. I love the fabric selection but was sad to hear such rude remarks from a customer service provider. Unfortunately this isn't my first time in, and it isn't my first time overhearing remarks like this being made. I will not be returning and I emplore others to do the same if you hope to not be made fun of out loud as soon as you walk through the door. Crafting is for everyone.

I own a jewelry business that has several display cases and we were looking at redoing the bottom of them in flocked velvet.

We called this location to ask if they carried it and were rudely told "I cant help you because I dont know what that is" and when my employee went to happily explain what it is (She is a degreed seamstress) she was hastily hung up on mid sentence.

It's incredibly unfortunate that in todays age where we are all competing with internet sales I had to turn to a website which I quickly recieved my correct order cheaply and the next day.

I sincerely hope that there may be some retraining done after reading this but if they allow their employees to act like that in the first place I doubt they will...
