I took my fixed wing there for a flight controller(FC) installation. I left very specific instruction that would have cut down on labor cost and installation time. The INAV configuration app helps with that and so I suggested it to be used. I called back on a Friday because I was told Andrew would be the person working on my fixed wing. Andrew was rude and very belligerent in his tone with me. He stated in a very loud rude voice that it will take him over 5 hours to install an FC and that I need to come get my "Stuff". I explained to him that I could do it myself but being that I have an up coming Army deployment I don't have the time to do it. He insisted that I come get my "Stuff" so that is what I did the following day. When I arrived there I asked to speak with the manager and Andrew. I began to describe to the manager how rude Andrew was to me and he said he knows because he was standing there at the time the conversation took place over the phone. This was strange to me because he never told Andrew to apologize nor did he offer up an apology for his employees rude behavior. This was obviously a us against him(the black customer) thing going on. It felt like some good ole boy BS from the Confederate South type deal. Anyway, I told the manager that I am very good at working on RC planes and that if he wanted to out source work to me I would be available upon my return from my deployment. I also told him that I would never treat his customers the way Andrew treated me. I gave him my number but I know he will not call me even if he needed to because I may not be welcome there for what I believe are obvious reasons. Read moreLarry is really a great guy!!! He went the extra mile to find me a vintage Ofna drive belt!!! I was on their website and it showed that they had one of them in stock. Another guy checked one box and said; “we don’t have it!” Well I’m glad I asked Larry at the register because he went and grabbed every single Ofna parts box they had!!! He went through all of them and found exactly what I was looking for plus a few extra things he found in the boxes that I could use!!! That was the best customer service experience I’ve ever had at any store my entire life!!! I was very impressed and he gained me as a customer for life!!! I really appreciated the fact that he would go out of his way by that much to help me! The younger guy didn’t seem too happy nor did he show the willingness to help me! It was the case of “well it’s not here so we don’t have it.” Well I guess he was wrong! There needs to be more people like Larry in this world!!! I appreciate the great prices! The rest of the staff seems pretty awesome and knowledgeable too! I’m always excited to enter that amazingly overstocked hobby store! They have everything you could think of and more!!! From RC’s to board games and trading cards. If it’s a neat hobby related item they have it! If they don’t have something they will find it on the computer and order it for you for NO extra special order fee!!! You WILL NOT be disappointed at Leisure Hours Hobbies EVER!!! Read moreMy husband bought an ESC Mamba Monster 2 yesterday from this establishment and when he got home to open it up, there was no ESC inside of there... When he took it right back to leisure hour hobbies, they told him he would have to come back today to speak to the guy that is in charge... We came back this morning and told him what happened, and he acted like he didn’t believe my husband... We have security cameras in our house and we showed him the footage, and it shows CLEARLY that he didn’t open the package until he got home... They still didn’t want to refund my husbands money back, let alone they were willing to order another one but he would have to pay another $120... My husband has been going to this place for a little over a year now, and always have bought things from there... So in this case, We will NEVER step foot up in there again! This is how you treat your customers... Me personally, I think the guy, Scott, who was in charge had trouble believing my husband because he was a black man... We will do our hobby business somewhere else!!!! HORRIBLE CUSTOMER...
