Meijer — Local services in Plainfield

I have been pressured into signing up for mperks...finally did and trying to redeem my receipt for reward points and the last 2 times the register wouldn’t accept my mperks number even though it has been confirmed by guest services that I am using the correct one. I am currently handicapped, and had a friend with me to help me shop for some grocery items and other so that I may quarantine starting tomorrow to make sure I do not come into contact with Covid before my spinal procedure a week from now. The self checkout host did not say anything but “hmm that’s odd” when I told her my mperks was not working. So I switched machines and it still didn’t work and I told her and she still said nothing. I did not have time to stop at guest services because I was running on my friends time who was gracious enough to take me to the store, yet he had already went and returned the handicap scooter and I was then walking (which is hard for me) so I was not going to stand in the line for guest services. I figured I would download the app and do it manually. Well, when my receipt printed, it printed halfway. The receipt paper must have been running low (I know this bc I have worked at Walmart as a self checkout host and the lighter ink means change receipt paper) so the self checkout host should have changed that. I was not aware that there were 5 different things that you needed to manually enter in order to redeem. Of course because of the printer not being refilled, one of the numbers is missing. I called customer service and the woman on the phone told me I would have to go back into the store to have my receipt printed again. I have to quarantine starting tomorrow for a spinal surgery. I have many other things to do to prep for being at home disabled alone for a week. So why would going back into the store for this be a priority? It’s not. The mperks was a waste of my time and money. The only good experience I’ve had with this Meijer was when a Shipt shopper did the work for me. This was not okay at all and I’m very disappointed. I've been shopping at Meijer for over 20 years. Over time, especially the past two years, I shop there less and less. As of the first of June 1st, I just drive by and shop elsewhere. Someone at the corporate level or the local level makes decisions to eliminate products for lord only knows what reason? In the past 8 years I have had to go elsewhere to shop for 22 "staple" items that I used to buy at Meijer. More recently, they decided to eliminate a bread item that I've purchased from them for 20 years. There were some days that I would make a trip to Meijer Just for a "Bread run" simply because of the choices and other bakery items they carried. That's it, I'm done! If you can't make money on bread, maybe Meijer should just sell bags of ice, after all it's the most profitable item in the store! And that's a fact!!! Bread, c'mon bread? Meijer is quickly becoming like Walmart! They stock the shelves with items they want you to buy, not the items you want to buy. In addition, several of the items they've eliminated it seems were to make room for less healthy items. Meijer's problem in Plainfield is there are several other choices in the area to chose from. I have neighbors who refuse to shop there for other reasons that relate to "grocery choices". In the beginning I couldn't figure out why, but now I understand. Good luck Meijer! Maybe you should pay closer attention to the needs of your customers and not so much the need to increase profitability. As you well know, if you don't have the time to listen to your customers, you won't have customers. If you want to be profitable you need customers! What beautiful place fully loaded with racist people.. it was around 10 pm today as 03/06/2024 i was buying some stupid stuff I went to self cheking was around 270$ total I'm always paying with Google pay ...my phone went off I take the cart with all the stuff and give it to lady who work at slef cheking line... I explain that I'm going to bring my wallet from my car and comback not even 3 minutes when I comback I found 2 ladies old like 45 years white ugly with I lot makeups and yellow hair ...cheking my stuff the funny part one of them I noticed was watching me when I was shopping and when I got to slef cheking I sow her watching me again I was thinking is funny that she following me all the way ...but when sow her cheking my stuff when i comback to pay i understand that she trurly thinking im steeling ...what freaking hell is going with you probably I have more money than all family ... so guys, if they don't look American, don't go at night shift. ...Small advice from good customer i spend at major every week more 400 dollars because it is 7 minutes away from my house 😅 note I was going every time around 6pm or weekens in middle of day i never think that i look so suspicious in my life ...I told those ugly old fake humans that's Is not right to check my stuff and left I will never gonna comback to this location of shame...
