I hate writing a negative review because it also penalizes the good people at the same place. I will be accurate, fair, and give you advice. First, the store was good, the employees seemed nice and helpful including the lady stocking beer and wine. She helped us get a person at the service desk. The gentleman in produce was nice as well. Everything was good. We had a fair amount of items and decided to not use the self check out. This was our error. A manager had opened another line and we went to her. She was wearing a read vest and when we returned to look for our missing bag, she was one of the people I spoke to when I returned asking abou the missing bag. Checking out was uneventful other than I noticed she took two different peppers and rang them up together as a different kind of pepper (didn't seem to be much) but I just happened to notice. I should have paid more attention. We unloaded the cart into the rental and headed to my parent's house. We get there and notice a missing bag. We searched the car and made sure we didn't misplace it. We had not. I went back to the store to ask and the lady that had checked me out about it. She immediately dismissed me like I am bothering her, or worse. Either she thought I was a thief, or she knew what had happened. Neither is good. I do not live here, but I am from here and my family shops here. They know enough people at the store that they offered to come to the store and sort things out. It was a small amount of items, it was New Year's Eve, so who wants to interject drama? I stopped at another store and purchased the items. To be 100% fair before writing a negative review, I went through the rental one more time by removing the seats to make sure that I was 100% correct before writing this review. My advice is to either not go through the checkout line and check yourself out or pay VERY close attention, there is no appeal afterwards. I will not have this issue again as there are other stores I can go to in the area. My elderly parents are most likely stuck having to micro-manage their grocery purchases because these people clearly do not care. Make sure it is right at the moment you are there, as clearly you are not going to get anywhere afterwards. To be fair, when they dismissed me, I turned around and walked out, not worth the aggravation/making a scene. I got the feeling the manager would have died on that hill anyway and another reason why this whole thing smells rotten to me. To the store, enjoy your "free stuff" whoever took it, I guess you needed it this bad? I probably would have bought it for you if you had asked nicely. It isnāt the items, it is the principal, and that is a hill I...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreUpdate: Over the last 6 months or so this location has begun to go downhill. The quality of produce has become a gamble to the point where on most trips I skip about half of what I planned to buy. They have stopped carrying many of the items I used to purchase with no warning that these items were being discontinued. Most recently they got rid of several checkout lanes and replaced them with self checkout. I dont know if shopping habits have changed for a majority of customers but I still shop for 2 weeks at a time so there is no way I will use self checkout. Yesterday when I went in, the shopping cart I was using had one of the new security features that stops the cart at the EAS tower, supposedly, if you didnt go to the register first. I called customer service as a friendly FYI that they may want to look into that because I ended up with a bruise on my leg because of the sudden stop. I couldn't reach customer service because of long hold times (hung up after 30 minutes). Then I tried reaching out to the store directly and was put on hold for 20 minutes. When the manager finally picked up, her response was "it only does that if you dont go to the register " Why would I waste an hour of my day trying to report an issue if I was trying to steal?! Once again, I let it go and gave them another chance. Went in tonight to do more shopping and again, many of the items are either out of stock or discontinued. I have run out of reasons to continue shopping here. At this point even Wal Mart sounds like a better option. I love most of the people here, especially Luis, but I doubt I'll be back.
This is my favorite place to shop for groceries. The prices are comparable to Wal Mart but the experience is so much better. 99% of the staff is always smiling, friendly, and helpful. Honestly, the only person who isn't is one gentleman who works in meat and deli. Despite his attitude, this location still...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis picture was taken today (12/6/21). Location: 14th @ Los Rios. Not only were these mushrooms rotting there was mold inside as well. Note the expiration date - 11/22/21 - two weeks passed.
I have a rather long list of grievances with this particular Kroger. But I am fed up with the expired food being left on the shelves. And I donāt mean canned goods. Iām talking about produce, meat, eggs, milk. This is not an unusual occurrence. It is a pattern of behavior that I have noticed for the last 10-12 years. I tried again and again to get the management to correct these health infractions; written letters to corporate as well as Texas regulators but nothing is done about it. After seeing this disgusting package today I decided it was time to go public.
Generally speaking, I avoid shopping there at all costs; occasionally grabbing something in a hurry when I have to. It is THE WORST grocery store in the area. If you must shop there, pay close attention to the expiration dates on their packages. Furthermore, be sure to complain when you find an expired package. Apparently, they wonāt listen to just...
