Ladies and gentleman, via this review I wish to share the most humiliating and terrible experience, that I had the misfortune to suffer at Patel Brothers, Plano not only with the owners and management but also with the entire community who patronise this store. On 18 May I visited the store and intrigued by the Chapati machine started making a short video of the process to show to my children at home. I noticed no sign stating whether this was forbidden or not. There were two workers engaged in making chapatis. Suddenly one of them got excited and started yelling that his photo shouldn’t be taken and THAT THIS WAS NOT INDIA BUT AMERICA. It was explained to him that he was nowhere in the pictures. He however continued to rave and rant in the most arrogant and rude language and tone, while his two coworkers smiled and spoke to him in a language that I could not understand. On advice of a fellow shopper, a complaint was made to Mr Patel, who then briefly spoke to the man concerned, who appeared to be still smirking and gloating. Personally, I have decided to never return. I would request the other paying customers to seriously consider whether the Patel brothers need to do more to civilise their employees or allow them to insult client and look down upon Indians ? I am sure the Patel brothers do not think of India as an uncivilised indisciplined land. Why should their non Indian...
Read moreI totally agree with Robin and Shelly - a lot of selection and good price, they are also dong a good job in keeping the place organized etc. But I also have to agree to Kunjal and Ganesh - very rude lady staff (a few out of all) at the check out and also some of the Indian guys there (since there are other country guys working in stocking etc. whom I dont bother much with due to their hard work)....I checked with two Indian guys for an item and was met with very stern behavior even though they went to check for the item. A FEW of the YOUNG ladies up front are very rude and full of drama...it is almost sickening to have to deal with them - its deplorable! I hope the management will take notice and work it out. I like going to the store due to close convenience and the large stock, but there are also other stores which aren't too far. Management, please train the ladies up front to be mellow, better service the customer and customer caring instead of creating a lot of drama scene - My rating is solely for the staff behavior and not about the store which I like to give close to 5 stars...when I see changes in the staff behavior, I will update...

Update: 8/20/2014
Don't bother buying their roti from the new set up that they have.
The people making rotis have no idea as to what a roti/chapatti should look like and 9/10 times they are half baked.
When you bring them home and try to bake it on the tava, they don't fluff.
They are still messing with their setup...and it will be a few weeks till they get it right...I hope.
If not, they are just sitting ducks. Taj or Indo Pak or any other major grocery call set up the same thing and can do a much better job than that.
The reason for two stars....
Don't buy their specials they have on sale.
They sell crap that don't work, like the sprout maker and they don't take it back if it's not working. Wtf. And yes their store is very dirty especially near the produce section.
I guess the health inspector needs to pay them a visit and write them up.
I don't trust them to be fair in...
