I would've given this a 5 for what is a well stocked store, with quality and branded items to choose from. The prices are all over the place quit honestly. Some things I felt were a steal; others, I think are a complete joke and exceptionally high. I found no overall rhyme or reason for the pricing method to be frank. The reason I am lowering my star quality is two reasons. Number one I felt that the person who appeared to be in charge I believe her name is Kelly, was quite brash, in general to the customers, and I felt her level of assertiveness towards the employees and training was also very pushy, edgy, condescending, and slightly inappropriate to where it was very uncomfortable to be in the presence of such a situation as you felt for the person who was trying to learn. I didn't get the sense that there was any type of warm nurturing treatment happening in this training and in this type of environment with all due respect I believe it should be the first thing someone is extended. Anytime people are humiliated in front of others something needs to be mentioned. If I felt I would come off appropriately myself I would have stepped in and said something. But the level of frustration it was causing me was causing my blood pressure to rise and I can assure you that if I would have opened my mouth in front of the many people that were shopping I would have become just as much as spectacle as the one I was in attempts to silence, so for lack of a better term I kept my mouth shut and I will rather voice it here and those who have an interest in reading such a thing will find out what they need to know by reading this and no public humiliation will be in place and happening to be witness live. My goal is not to embarrass or belittle anybody so this is probably the best outlet for me. Second, I also lowered my star value because I spent over $180 here, and I took advantage of a 25% off purchase by participating in a $25 donation to their cause. I noticed that there was a additional 10% off for people in the military, nursing or health care, and I believe seniors. I mentioned this discount as I was checking out, but because the cashier had already processed my transaction of cash mind you, I was told that it was too late and I could not obtain the 10% off that I am rightfully do for their signs. I had proof of employment on me, and as far as I would believe, it is the cashier's responsibility and or this manager who was assisting her, which is the same one I'm speaking of above by the way, it is their duty I would think to ask me as a customer if I perhaps May belong to any of those groups that are eligible for the additional discount. But they did not neither one of them. So when I mentioned it and I'm told it's too late I almost felt as if I was expected to do their job for them in a way. You would think that somebody spending is much money as I spent at a second hand store like this would be a valuable commodity for the future to this store, and that fixing the transaction to reflect my 10% off that I was eligible for would have been the least of their concerns as far as a denial, and they would have been more focused on the customer retention aspect. it's been bothering me more and more every time I think about it and I should have really pushed the issue but I felt like I mentioned it once they told me no I questioned it twice they told me no again so I left with my things. But it still seems I was wronged in this and I don't see what the big deal is for them to fix it. It seems like it's their mistake that cost me. if I'm wrong, or somebody else feels that I'm sounding out of line by feeling this way please by all means, do share your thoughts. I probably will not return to this store ever again for this reason, and for the unwelcome feeling I got for the 3 hours I was there by this manager person. I wouldn't say she was mean, I would just maybe think her level of professionalism could be extremely improved maybe even just by reading this. She did smile and I did see her engaged positively with people so...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreNicely maintained, clean, & organized thrift store that my family enjoys. Downside is that prices on some clothing & houseware items are higher than what they should be per online site research & other thrift stores. So, I can pass on those just as I would on anything else, as there are still good deals throughout the store.
Some new items with tags are marked at higher prices than what I'd expect to pay on clearance at retail stores. Store is staffed by volunteers. Some are more helpful than others. Proceeds are stated to be going to American Cancer Society, not sure how they maintain a retail space in Pleasanton despite a volunteer workforce and donated goods, so my hat's off to them as it must be working since there's an ACS furniture store right across the parking lot that also seems to be...

When I brought it to their attention, they said thereās nothing they can do since it looks like they were priced by different volunteers. Really?? My children waited patiently while I checked out only to be reprimanded by one of their volunteers because they were sitting a couch that was for sale. Definitely thinking twice before I step in...
