I want to preface my review with the fact that we ordered pick up so we are accounting for the time it took to get back to us. I ordered a regular quesadilla and a regular nachos. My husband ordered a large quesadilla and super ranchero burrito. I went for my small quesadilla first. Pretty standard, what you'd expect from a regular quesadilla but with the amount of cheese used, it made it a little hard to eat. Especially considering time from restaurant to table and the cheese coagulating, it really shouldn't have been as thick as it was but we realized it wasnt even fully melted through, you could see chunks of unmelted cheese. I couldn't finish eating it, it was unappetizing. My husband had a similar experience with his quesadilla, considering it was a larger version of what I ordered. As for my nachos, upon opening the box, the guacamole had darkened into a really unappealing color and the cilantro in the pico was wilted. I usually order nachos for takeout so I'm used to them being soggy but with the sheer amount of toppings trapped in the container, it was pretty soggy and hard to eat. Luckily we ordered a side of chips so I just used those. The guacamole tasted off. Not that it went bad, just that it didn't taste good. My husband had a similar thought since his burrito was full of it. I didn't finish my nachos. I think if it's for take out, they should either use less toppings or put the toppings on the side. The entire top of the chips were covered. As for my husband's burrito, he said it was very meh. I rarely hear him say bad things about a burrito so a meh is a big deal for him. At over $13 for the burrito he said it wasn't worth the price either. He did save it for later but we shall see if he actually touches it again. Overall I'm giving our experience 3/5 stars because we realize some of the problems were because it's not fresh like it would be at the restaurant but at the same time, things that aren't affected are flavor and quality and they just weren't all there. If we were to try this place again, I'd just go for enchiladas instead. 5/5 for these chips though, they're...
Read moreLadies and gentlemen, gather 'round the culinary campfire, for I have stumbled upon a hidden gem in the unlikeliest of places. Pleasanton, California, a town that might not be on the tip of your foodie radar, but fear not, for Fiesta Taco has emerged as the shining star in this gastronomic constellation.
Now, let's talk about those Al Pastor tacos. Oh, sweet succulence wrapped in a tortilla embrace! The meat, kissed by flames and time, achieves that perfect balance between tender and charred, dancing with flavors that transport you straight to the vibrant streets of Mexico City. As I took my first bite, I felt an almost spiritual connection with the art of slow-cooking, and the blend of spices whispered secrets of generations past. It's the kind of taco that dreams are made of, the kind that could convince a somber mime to tap dance with joy.
But let's not forget, dear wanderers of flavor, that even in the midst of a taste revelation, there's room for the unexpected. Fiesta Taco's salsa bar, oh my! It's not just a corner of the establishment; it's a symphony of salsa. A harmonious medley of heat, tang, and texture awaits your creative endeavors. Mango habanero, roasted tomatillo, smoky chipotle – they're all there, waiting for your chip to take the plunge.
Now, let's address the elephant in the room: Pleasanton. It might not be the most glittering star in California's galaxy, but here's the twist – Fiesta Taco manages to make it part of its charm. Like a magician who conjures wonder out of thin air, the eatery's vibrancy and flavor cast a spell that even the most skeptical food adventurer couldn't resist.
So, in conclusion, my fellow culinary explorers, don't let the geographical coordinates fool you. Pleasanton, thanks to Fiesta Taco, has transformed into a pilgrimage site for Al Pastor worshippers. The tacos are the stuff of legend, and the salsa bar is a canvas for your saucy artistry. Embrace the unexpected, for sometimes it's in the unassuming corners that food magic...
Read moreFirst time trying this place after seeing many mentions in a few local forums where I searched for the best burritos/tacos. Pretty solid spot with some of the best prices! Wednesday evening around 6pm-7pm, and there was a diverse crowd of folks eating inside. Always a good sign to me! The ambiance was really nice, with plants and nice decor. We did take-out and ordered two California carne asada burritos and a mango aguas frescas. Came with a bag of tortilla chips and we loaded up at the salsa bar.
California burritos : 4/5 Carne asada was tender, flavorful. My only critique was that the portion control was not on par. One burrito was obviously more filled than the other (thicker), and barely had any sour cream. The other burrito was thinner & had too much sour cream for half of it, that it was seeping out. But otherwise, solid burritos for the price!
Mango aguas frescas: 5/5 Fresh, not too sweet, not watered down! Very refreshing, and I will get this again.
Chips & salsa were great! They were generous with filling the little chip bags! Salsas were delicious.
Will definitely come back to try more items! Probably the regular burrito, quesadillas, and the quesabirrias next time. And friendly...
