UPDATED: I am finally getting around to updating this review on 3/7/17 that I posted around January, 2017. Feel free to read below. In the end, a "manager" called and offered me a partial refund after many calls/emails tying to "help me" out and wanted me to sign something. I said no thank you so you all could make your own decisions. MY EXPERIENCE....awful! MY OPINION....stick with a corporate location!
Over Thanksgiving, we upgraded my daughter's phone. Got home, and after an hour, the screen was stuck on the Apple logo. Returned, they messed with it for over an hour and gave her a replacement phone. Got home, it did it again. Both times, they were returned and this store could not say what was wrong or fix it. Both receipts say the phones were "defective" and one added "buyers remorse". I was still charged a $70 restocking fee PLUS a $19.99"set up and go fee" for two phones that didn't work!!! YEP THAT IS $89.99 FOR NOTHING! I left, went straight to a Verizon corporate store, bought the same phone and my daughter has not had ONE ISSUE since that day in November. We obviously didn't change our mind, our only buyers remorse was buying it at the Plum [Golden Mile Hwy] location! In hindsight, I think I figured out why...it was the way "Alex" was transferring data. He was putting it on his computer and then onto the phone....I think something got corrupted in the transfer. It didn't occur to me that he did that until after she returned with her second phone and later told me that he never asked for her old phone again. HOW MANY OF YOU WANT YOUR 16 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER'S INFORMATION ON THEIR COMPUTER (including pictures)???? Again, we went directly to the Monroeville Corp. store, were in and out, and have not had ONE ISSUE. Yes, they do a direct transfer. Same phone, same user....you figure it out. Still fighting the $89.99 charge for 2 non-working phones and a waste of 2 days of our holiday break ($70 restocking fee PLUS $19.99 the "set up and go" services" )with our kids (it is a matter of principle)...but, hey, you decide. Read moreI visited this establishment about a month ago. I went in to inquire about and old tablet that I had been using on my account and also a broken tablet also billed on the same account. The salesman Doug indicated that he could get me a new tablet at no charge to replace the oldest tablet but couldn't help me with the other tablet due to contract restraints. I accepted the "free"tablet as I was told it would not impact my current bill in any way. I questioned Doug and he reassured me that my bill would remain unchanged. I agreed to complete the process in order to obtain the tablet. Well a month later and my bill went from 171 to 233. I am sick! Apparently through investigation and calling Verizon I was charged a 40 dollar upgrade fee and Doug also placed a 9 dollar a month insurances fee on to my account. I was never informed about either of these fees otherwise I would not have accepted the "free" tablet. I am so tired of these deceptive practices! I would not recommend this place . The store recently opened and is off to a terrible start. In speaking with Doug today he responded by telling me to call Verizon! Nice. Great...
Read moreThe employees of the store were very friendly as well as knowledgeable about their products. As an iPhone user I didn’t have enough cloud storage for a full phone backup and during the transfer process of getting my photos and videos to my new phone one of the video files wouldn’t transfer but they were able to work around the issue and transferred the file through a google app which also restored some of my photos I had deleted to clear space on my phone which was a very pleasant surprise. I was unsure of which phone to upgrade to as my last phone was an iPhone 6s and I didn’t know much of the new models but knew I needed more space than my old phone and I couldn’t be happier with their recommendation of the iPhone XR as it was an affordable payment upgrade especially considering the increase of memory from 64 gigabytes on my 6s to 128 gigabytes on the XR. I definitely recommend this location as it wasn’t busy and the service was absolutely fantastic. If the employees read these reviews, thank you guys and I hope you enjoyed...
