Update to the update: I was contacted by the manager of the Pocatello store and she was very upset to hear about the issues I had with the guitar. She explained that the guitar support staff that I had spoken to work at a different store and she expressed that if she’d known about the issue it would have been handled very differently. Ultimately it was the hand written card that showed up as an apology that got me thinking they deserve to get a star back for all that effort. Glad there are still people out there that care about customers and the reputation of the businesses they represent!
Update: Buying the guitar was easy, and the sales folks were great. Fast forward one month and I’ve had a broken guitar on my hands without any help from the guitar support staff at the Piano Gallery. I’ve reached out to them half a dozen times talked to a few people that said they’d get back to me and never once received any communication back about fixing the guitar. I reached out to PRS on my own and they are sending me a replacement bridge that I’ll replace myself rather than having to go through this mess again.
Until recently I had never been in the Piano Gallery (because I’m not a pianist), however during my visit one of the other shops in town informed me they also have guitars. I was pleasantly surprised to find an excellent assortment of instruments, but more specifically a great selection of PRS guitars which was exactly what I had been looking for! The staff was very friendly and helpful in finding the guitar I wanted and I even ended up getting a new practice amp. Tiffany was very helpful, telling me the basics I needed to know to select an instrument. I hefted a few ukuleles, but nothing felt right. I turned around, and there she was; a beautiful soprano ukulele with a delicately carved goldfish upon the front of the instrument. My breath caught, a slow blush crept up my cheeks, and the world seemed to pause in its rotation to witness the truest form of love there is: the love between a young musician and the perfect instrument. I picked her up off the rack and strummed a few times, her dulcet tones sending shivers down my spine. I walked away from that store that day, having made the most difficult choice of my life. My husband believed that the goldfish ukulele was not for me, so I held a different one in my arms that served me well as I began my quest to master the ukulele. But that goldfish ukulele continued to haunt my dreams, the shapely curve of her seductive form appearing behind my closed lids every night. It took me a few days - fool that I was - to realize that no ukulele would ever compare to my beloved goldfish ukulele, my beloved Goldeen (I named her after a Pokémon). Tiffany was kind enough to work with me to exchange my ukulele to begin a layaway for my beloved Goldeen. Now my beloved sits on a shelf in the back of the store, as I work much as Jacob of the Bible worked for his beloved Rachel. Read moreI ordered a PA system back in December. Was told if I ordered it that day they were placing an order to Yamaha and I should receive it in a week or two. After 3 weeks I hadn't heard from them so I went in to find out where my order was. I was told it hasn't arrived, probably because of the holidays. They said it should be here in no more than a week. The next week I went in and was told they are tracking my order but haven't found it. Went in today, exactly 1 month to the day to see if it was in. Was told they would find out for me. Just got a call telling me they never actually placed my order at all. They asked if I wanted then to order it again. I asked when will I get it and was told Not more than 2 weeks. I have already paid in full for this item and they want me to give them another 2 weeks!? I said you should order it and have it overnight shipped. I said if it's not here on time I want my money back and there will be lots of negative comments to everyone I know who is into music. Very disappointed in the customer service with this place.
