Update: I'm giving one more star because after I initially wrote this review, the lady at Walkers called me back and said they could send a truck the following Wednesday (a week out) to pick up the mattress and charged me their $10 haul away fee. I'm happy that they at least scheduled the haul away, it was a little ridiculous still that they couldn't just call the drivers while they were sitting in my driveway and tell them to grab it.
Original review: I typically really like this place, but I'm not so happy with my last experience. I was helped by one lady while looking for a new mattress. I was looking at the Purple Hybrid 3 with the adjustable base and two of the Purple Harmony pillows. This purchase is well over $4,000 and a huge investment for me, but I'm really in need of a better mattress. I looked online and decided between purchasing directly through Purple or through Walkers. Since I have a very heavy king sized mattress to haul away I asked the lady at Walkers if they haul away mattresses and she said yes, but it depends on the guys picking it up because if it's all stained and gross they won't. I told her we were wanting our mattress hauled away if they could and understood that the men delivering would make the decision when they delivered (my mattress is fine so I didn't think it would be a problem). She said she would write up our order so I could discuss the purchase with my husband. I went back in after the weekend to make the purchase and was helped by another lady who pulled up my order in their system. She was not a friendly lady by any means and I suppose it could be because most furniture places pay their employees commission and she was just checking me out for another employee who was not there. Either way, she was not a welcoming person and I almost cancelled just because of her. Today two very nice men showed up to deliver my mattress and frame. We had already pulled out the old mattress and frame to make their job easier. When they were finished I asked about them hauling away our mattress and they said they would, but that they couldn't because it wasn't in their notes for the job. A certain box had to be checked and it wasn't. If they showed up to the warehouse with a mattress that they weren't scheduled to haul away they'd get in trouble. Of course I don't want to get them in trouble, but now I'm slightly irritated with the people at Walkers for not marking me down for a haul-away when I thought it was clear that's what I was requesting. I would have gladly purchased directly from Purple online if I knew this was going to happen. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt and called them. I told the lady on the phone that they had just delivered my other mattress, but said no one marked me down for the haul away. She said they were sorry, but wouldn't send a truck back to haul away a mattress (mind you they were literally just pulling out of my driveway as we spoke). The lady on the phone sounded like the same grumpy lady who helped me finalize my order in the store. She said they have to mark it down on my order form and charge me a $10 haul away fee, but nobody did that so she can't help me. I told her I'm just the customer, I don't know those things. We will never shop here again, which we have bought several big ticket items. Poor customer Service, Poor follow up, being met by angry people. I would hope the owner would give me a call, Since nice I do own my own business.
Well, As seeing the reply from Walkers furniture they never gave me a call. As for blaming shortage of raw materials, that was not the issue since we new about supply issues, being in business ourselves.
The neglected to comment on the staff's rude, angry demeaner. They also did not comment when staff were asked questions that they were rude and impatient.
