I stopped by with zero intention of buying shoes. I had just ordered custom orthopedic insoles and I was told to wait to buy shoes until I received the inserts. I was seriously just there to see if I was a size 6.5 or 7. Matthew greeted me, scanned my feet, listened to my feet woes and then dropped some serious knowledge on me. He told me I was actually a size 8, and that with the right footwear, I could likely reduce my discomfort. He selected several brands based on the preferences I gave him and picked insoles that gave my feet instant relief. He showed me a few recovery exercises with a muscle ball they had in store, all while being 100% zero pressure about making a sale. I told him that I needed to think about the purchase … only to send my husband back to the store 20 mins later to order my shoes / insoles and to get a pair for himself. Joe helped me in the store on this trip. He was kind, patient, and listened to all of my questions and concerns. I am an ER nurse so 12+ hour shifts on my feet is intense! I have relied on Brooks Ghosts for several years-tried others like Hoka and New Balance but they were not as comfortable - specifically for work. I went to the store that day wanting to try on the Ghost Max, Hoka Clifton and On Clouds- but figured I'd be leaving with Ghost 16s again. Joe helped me with those and then suggested a Saucony Ride 18-which I had never even heard or considered. HUGE difference- that shoe was noticeably way more comfortable. I am seriously impressed so far. I have already worked 2 shifts in these and they are amazing! I am obviously going to give it more time and observation but I am confident that this is my new go-to work shoe. We walked into FF and there were no other customers but when we left they were hopping. I was very impressed how each customer was greeted when they walked in and told they would be with them as soon as they could all without missing a beat taking care of my wife and I. I always have issues buying shoes as I wear a size 14 so I always prepare for that, Caroline was amazing from start to finish. We did the foot scan and she explained every part of my foot, she brought out 3 different shoes for me and told me about each of them and which one she thought was going to be the best for me. Caroline had a sense of humor, she engaging and was very informative in every aspect of what she was showing me. My luck with shoes continued and I had to order a pair but that process was very simple and I was surprised that there were so many color options for my particular shoes.
