The Wandering Witch — Local services in Poquoson

I visited The Wandering Witch last week, and to my surprise, it’s truly a hidden gem. While the store is on the smaller side, don’t let that fool you, it’s absolutely packed with magical goodies. As someone who’s been into crystals for many years, I can confidently say the quality here is top-tier. I’ve been to many other metaphysical shops, and not many compare to the quality and variety found here.

The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the staff is incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. I really appreciated that they weren’t overbearing, they let you browse at your own pace but are more than willing to help when you need it. That balance is rare and so appreciated.

One of my favorite features is their make-your-own spell jar station, such a unique and fun idea! On this trip, I picked up three towers, a gorgeous labradorite pyramid, a bracelet, and a few candles. I’m absolutely thrilled with everything I purchased.

I enjoy The Wandering Witch because it is set up in a very intentional and intimate way. The shelves are carefully curated and you can tell the items have been thoughtfully chosen and placed.

The owner, Skylar, is a genuine and warm presence who treats you with compassion and warmth the moment you walk in the door. She is also incredibly knowledgeable about the craft, and more than willing to help however she can.

If you are looking for a huge metaphysical store, filled wall to wall with masses of products, this isn’t the shop for you. However, I believe what Skylar has created here is even better, as it is a true representation of what spirituality and witchcraft are supposed to embody and represent.

Stumbling into the Wandering Witch, I was looking for a metaphysical charm to quell the nightmares. There are herbs, crystals, oils, books, incense but the real mystery is the cherished community that can be found here. I know I can fully be myself and be accepted. I know I can sit down and interact with people that care because maybe they have had the same struggles I have before. I know I can interact in events with people of all ages that want to deepen and discover a relationship with nature. I love taking classes and diving deeper into a topic for one week and the next class can build on that idea. The staff is always open to your questions, can tailor what you need better than any book.
