First time trying this place. Used to be a Chinese place that we really enjoyed. Going In, place looks empty/closed, dark windows, and open sign was not on. So we came in and was greeted right away and sat quickly. Ordered a margarita but server said they don’t have that. I saw they had giant signs advertising them and saw from past reviews that they had alcoholic drinks. I think they might have lost their license cause in Virginia you have to sell so much food to serve liquor. Place was completely empty during what should be prime time lunch. So, we ordered food and sodas. Chips and salsa was okay nothing special and a bit on the bland side. My mom ordered fajitas and I ordered my usual with Mexican places. Chicken, rice and cheese. Food came out quickly . However, with the low rating in food. It was very very salty . We frequent other Mexican places and it’s never this salty. I think it might be the seasoning, it was the meats that were salty. My mom is diabetic and didn’t eat half of her food and did complain cause that isn’t good for other people with similar conditions. The server did apologize and said she would let the kitchen know, so hope they make adjustments and hope this place succeeds. They say it’s a Latin place but really it’s a typical Mexican place same food as any Mexican joint would carry. So they do have some big competition down the street that has been in the area for many years. But overall service was good just a little disappointing that they couldn’t serve a margarita (even though they had advertisement posters on the wall about them.) I would give this place another chance and hope they do better and get some business going. I would come back just for the awesome service. (We brought leftovers to my stepfather that wasn’t with us at the restaurant and he even said the meats were way too salty, so I know it just wasn’t us. ) as long as they improve and listen to the complaints I think they have a chance at...
Read moreJust tried Rosy's on Sept 27 with take-out. I tried the previous Chiri's once and from I remember it was fine. Today, we decided to go all out with a smorges board of food, total of $76 (for you to ultimately decide the priciness). We got the Crazy Jalapenos and Queso Fundido. We should have stopped there bc both of us couldn't stop eating the appetizers. Both were so delicious (sorry no pictures as we were so hungry we couldn't wait to dive in-will take pics next time). So far, A+. So then we tried the main entrees of Chipotle Burrito and Alambres. The burrito was fresh and the chicken was top quality. The sirloin in the Alambres was also above average in quality. Pita made it well rounded. Now, we are at a A++. I was so full I couldn't try the carne asada tacos but they also looked out of this world. I will be crushing those later! We were very impressed to say the least. You can go somewhere else for free chips and salsa, but you will not get the quality and deliciousness like Rosy's. First impression could not be better! Great addition to...
Read moreWhile I understand this place has been open for a short time the food is sub-par at best for Mexican restaurants in the area. The cheese dip with chorizo was watery, the fajita Texas was completely unacceptable for the price of 17.00. When we brought this to the attention of the staff they stated that they cut back the portion to 2 oz. Of chicken and steak and 4 shrimp to be more in line with what people eat… the owner stated that this was her first restaurant and I truly hope they understand skimping patrons portions to cushion pocket of a business will not fly in the area. Will not be back and would advise fellow lovers of Mexican to take your money and time to an establishment that is better quality and portion. Also the music choice for the restaurant was moreover annoying than...
