A Children's Place Bookstore — Local services in Portland

I can't believe how rude the ladies at this store were today to my Uncle. He waited in line to buy a book and have it autographed by an author today but decided to leave after being treated so terribly. He asked one of the ladies/possibly owner if they still had the book he wanted; she said they sold out but they still had the children's book the author was signing. My Uncle asked how much the children's book was and she walked away saying nothing. RUDE. Then these ladies came back down the line to gather books and names for the author to pre-sign before they got to the author and they looked at my Uncle said nothing and kept going down the line. He was willing to buy a book he didn't want just to help support a small business and have this author sign it but after being treated so rudely he decided to leave and our family will not be shopping there again. Book stores are a dying business you should appreciate your customers who are willing to park blocks away just to shop...

This review is for the online store. Before Christmas they advertised free shipping, and returns. Now that Christmas is over, I needed to return some pajamas that were too big. I was told I would have to pay for shipping to return the pajamas. That is not what they advertised. I remember the childhood joy of entering a bookstore where every shelf had something for me, rather than just one little section. I still get that feeling at A Children's Place, even though I'm shopping for my kid or my niblings instead of myself. Its warm, bright lighting and colorful displays are super inviting, and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. It feels like a book lover's wonderland. Top notch book...
