Bank of America (with Drive-thru ATM) — Local services in Portland

Im a local contractor and came to cash a check from another local contractor who banks with Bank of America. No hyperbole while waiting in line for the one banker, everyone in line was talking about how terrible this location was and they forget to go to the location on 102nd. The woman in front of me said “I’ve been coming here 10 years too long” once I got to the banker with the check and my ID I was told I had to do a verification on the check. I This is standard at all banks. The manager from start said “don’t you want to cash this at your bank and not pay the fee?” It’s 4pm id rather pay the 8 dollars and not wait until Friday to get the full dollar amount. After 15 minutes he tells me he’s sorry but it can’t be verifie and I’ll have to go to my bank. I said he just wrote the check to which the manager replied “there’s no way to prove that” but I thought that was the whole signature check number system name use? Like that’s what a check is. I asked him to call my client, because clearly after working in 90°s installing air conditioners all day the dirty sweat tattooed guy is being profiled. He said he already did before and there was no answer . I called my client (picked up immediately) and he said he has no missed calls. I would now like to be a part of the conversations initially waiting in line. Blown away by the experience and the managers reluctant attitude to do what banks do and the insulting measures he took to not do them. If zero stars was possible...

I bank at the BofA branch on 102nd and Stark. Deb has been at that branch for as long as I can remember, and I love going into that branch. I go to this branch because we have a safe deposit box at this branch. I cringe every time I drive into the parking lot to get into my SDB! Because the service is so bad, long line & 1-2 tellers. I was going to get into my SDB last week until I drove up to find a line out the door and half way into the parking lot. I turned around and said (won’t say it out loud ) Have to close my SDB, but think I will call and make an appointment to see the manager or someone that knows something tomorrow? I went into the bank on Monday afternoon to tell them I needed to get into my safety deposit box! And that I lost my key and needed the box drilled out! The clerk told me someone would be calling me! Haven’t had anyone call me yet and it’s Wednesday morning?

I was very lucky on Monday afternoon because I was #2 in line and it only took about 10-12 minutes to get to the window. But, by the time I was finished there were 5-6 people in back of me! And they probably had to wait for 15-20 minutes in line. I walked through the bank to see if there were anymore employees?? Only one other employee in one of the...

I have no idea why anyone would se this bank or this location at all, not only due they close at 4:30 m-f ( the better not to serve you) but they even close early on Saturday supposed to be at 1 but doors are locked before 12:55 . So I can’t cash check till Monday and will have to pay late fees because getting off the clock is more important then maintaining hours and providing customer services. .....FU and it is even worse today the bank manager decided to berate me because despite having multiple employees working only one was helping customers. And after finally getting to one side was told to wait for check verification and then I could get back in front of line. So I tossed my stuff on table and he took offense and even though I apologized (?) he continued to berate me instead of actually helping. Why ANYONE USES THIS BRANCH...
