Made a quick order based on reviews, ended up with a container of chicken a couple pieces of broccoli. No indication that I was ordering a container of chicken only and needed to add this rest of the dish.
Having traveled to all Asian countries and having had this dish in over 30 states I have to say I was shocked to end up with no rice. And no warning to boot? This has never happened to me in the US, and only in Thailand very very cheap mom and pop shops have I ever had white rice not come with entrees.
Taste: a mix of sweet with a tiny bit of spice, I enjoyed it but the spice is light for general tso. If you even expect a typical Asian 4-5 spice level I would recommend asking for extra spicy as this was more of a 1 Asian and 3-4 Caucasian. Chicken was crispy. To me, Chinese-American staples like general tso, sweet and sour, almond boneless, kung pao coming without basic white rice is akin to ordering chicken tikka masala or vindaloo and not getting rice? Lol. It’s laughable. A gyro, but it comes as a salad and without pita, Chile Colorado or carnitas plate that doesn’t come with corn/flour tortillas. I mean, all of this is making me wonder when paying to go to a movie theater and paying for a movie might not mean getting a seat with it. 😂 Seriously though, not a good look - I was sad with my dinner when I got it and I won’t return because of it.
P.s. Also no soy sauce in the bag. Maybe Uber driver stole it? Jk I’m sure if you aren’t including rice it doesn’t come with 1 packet of soy sauce either. 💴🤑
Don’t recommend:
Tried again: lowered rating further as I tried again and ordered 2 orders of rice this time. Not only was the order wrong giving us orange chicken instead of sesame - we only received 1 small container of...
Read moreWe really hope this business reads this review. We love the food here. We've been coming to eat since the first week they opened. We invited friends and family to join us for a Christmas Eve dinner. I stopped in at 11AM to reserve a table for our party. When we arrived at 6 the restaurant was hopping, but we were seated quickly, and after a bit of a wait our order was taken. Meanwhile a long queue had formed of customers waiting to pick up meals that they had ordered online. At the one hour mark we were served our soup. But that's the only thing we got. Meanwhile the restaurant staff, obviously overwhelmed by online orders (at this point I counted 28 people waiting) tried to keep up. The customers who were seated were simply ignored. I saw at least one other table give up and leave, and at the two hour mark, so did we. I have never been so embarrassed! Here we had planned a happy holiday time with friends and family only to have the evening completely wrecked by by poor management on the part of the restaurant. Priority should have been given to the dine-in patrons, and at some point the online orders should have been cut off. Street Wok needs to decide if it wants to continue dine in service at all or just concentrate on their online sales, because obviously they cannot handle both...
Read moreI went here for lunch around 1:30 on a Friday for some chicken Chow Mein, and an order spring roll. It was really delicious!! The vegetables were all crisp and had some welcome scorching. The meat was chicken breast -which I like more than dark meat- and it was cooked perfectly; not too gummy not to soft. If I had to make a criticism, it would be that the dish had a strong fish flavor from the oyster sauce. I had to soften it a bit by adding more soy sauce but it was great; I'd order it again. Unlike the Szechuan Chef place near Zupans, Street Wok provided a meal that was not spicy nor did it have any noticeable level of spiciness. The spring rolls were nice and crispy and had a good flavor. Theyre vegetarian but there was a paste? sauce? something inside that provided a gel-like texture. Tasted great but if youre a bit too sensitive on texture, I might recommend to not get the rolls. The sweet and sour sauce accompanied the rolls nicely, although a bit too sweet to counter the savory rolls for my taste. Still, please dont misunderstand, I am in no way suggesting not to order them. Theyre pretty tasty and were fried to perfection! As of April 14, these two things cost 23.90. I will come back and...
