Like that it's geared toward restaurants. You can get stuff without the frills or the high costs of a grocery store such as Fred Meyer, Safeway. Plus there are restaurant supplies which are key when you're a family who actually cooks and has a proper pantry. The downsides are much like WinCo, it pays to be choosey. The stuff they sell is cheap quality for the most part. For example, almost everything is disposable plastics instead of bulk bins, there are some organic items and some local meat but more or less everything in the store is highly processed and comes from far away. You can find some great things like bison, grass fed beef, lamb and some quality things like spinach that is organic and a great deal. Again, for eating healthy on a budget it has some great options vs the big box grocery stores. The staff are also helpful and cheery which is very nice!

I've been shopping at this store for nearly 10 years in one of their locations or another and now that it is US foods, I feel like it has gone downhill tremendously. But today I felt it was necessary to leave a review because it was a specific person that really made me feel like an idiot even though my request was very reasonable. I walked into the walk-in freezer where they sell food, meat and fish and fries and all of that stuff, I buy a box of mahi-mahi which the price under it is $29. I get up to the counter and the price is $39 which makes a huge difference on 5 lb of fish. The person that was checking me out went to the freezer to go check the prices and everything while another man that was not involved in my who? I didn't catch the name of but he was a larger bald guy. Not too old and first he assumed that I was asking about something else which is neither here or there. But then when I told him what I was curious about, he made me feel like I was insane for suggesting that the price that's underneath the box of food that I'm buying isn't going to match the price that it actually was selling for. He kept telling me that people usually don't buy this fish out of the freezer. They buy it out of the window that is on the outside of the freezer, but that then wouldn't make sense that you would still have prices inside of the freezer. He just kept repeating that people don't buy stuff out of the freezer. Well yes they do buy things out of the freezer. So I think it is a very reasonable assumption that the price that is attached to the box on the shelf maybe should be the price that the product is actually selling for and if it isn't, say that you're going to change it instead of just looking at me and becoming exasperated and walking away, shaking your head and acting like I was some type of inconvenience. I get it. Everybody at the stores seems to be upset now all of the time. I'm not sure if it's a management thing or what, but the customer service has gone down tremendously and I really don't think that it was a proper response to a very reasonable request. I didn't get angry. I did not raise my voice. All I suggested is that it was inconvenient that the price attached to the box that I was trying to buy was not the price that the box was...

I noticed that Cash & Carry no longer exists and a new name, US Foods Chef'store is in its place which took me by surprise. I've been going to Cash and Carry for years and while the employees are still the same friendly folk, the prices have increased. An example is the beef brisket, it has increased 1 dollar a pound and I noticed that both brands are the same price. In November 2020 when I last bought a brisket there was a price difference between the two brand choices.

This is no longer the case and the dollar increase adds a considerable cost to the final price. Also, selection is not as good as it was which is a real bummer. I'm not sure why Cash and Carry is no more and why the new "brand" decided to raise prices but the customer once again loses. Maybe it was this location but I've been coming to this location for a good while and I have never seen such a poor selection even during 2020.

After some quick research I found that a financial group in NY bought the Smart Foodservice Warehouse Stores (Cash and Carry) for 970 million so of course prices are going to increase.... So much for having a place to shop that isn't owned by...

One of the worst experience I had in my life. I purchased a 50 lb sugar bag and the bag was the entirely ripped off while the employee was carrying it to my car. Since the sugar was too heavy and we lacked time, we decided to keep the sugar and asked for a partial refund. However, the lady constantly inquired me about the cause of the nick, even though it was their own employee's mistake. The lady was the worst employee ever. She was extremely rude, had disgraceful attitude and deridedme although it was their own mistakes. She needs to get fired immediately. How can Cash and Carry hire such an employee? If Cash and Carry is this putrid and manages their employes like this, i refuse to pay a single penny at this store. I suggest skipping this place if you want good customer service or fresh food. This store has none of those aspects.Even now I feel disgusted due to the lady's nauseating attitude. Please go...
