I have been coming here for years now with never a bad experience. This last time I went i needed a new amp for my sub which I purchased here a couple years ago. The amp that originally came with the sub had since been swapped out for an alpine amp with no back/ guide to where each wire went (ground, remote, power, battery) by a friend of a friend trying to correct the initial wiring disaster that ANOTHER friend HAD installed to where only HE A WOULD KNOW HOW TO REWIRE SHOULD SOMETHING COME LOOSE, if that makes any sense. Needles to say, something came loose and due to the rats nest of wiring which now was the result of 2 people one of which was going in blind to try and fix a rewire issue, ontop of the initial "tweaker like" wiring job, none of my friends could figure out what went to where, etc. Upon arriving to the shop, I was greeted and began explaining the situation. Albert came to the rescue WITH Bambi in tow. Albert offered to take a look and see if he could figure it out to which I scoffed and said good luck, but ok. Lickity split! He figured out what wires went where and fixed up the whole mess, even giving me a diagram based on the color of each wire and what it goes to should this happen again. IMPRESSIVE TO SAY THE LEAST! I had already purchased a new amp since the one I had (the alpine) had no back and the wiring was a shit storm, so I was going to yank everything and start over with a correct wiring kit and an amp that had a guide on it. Albert and I went back inside, he voided the sale, and because they were so helpful I felt to show my appreciation, I would exchange the amp instead for something else. Bambi jumped in and helped me out with selecting something and answering any questions I had. PHENOMENAL PEOPLE WITH A PLEATHORA OF KNOWLEDGE. Oh and come to find out, i never needed an amp in the first place because the sub had one in it already! Just when I thought there was no hope for my system, my god kharma dropped these amazing people in my path! Top...
Read moreI donât normally write reviews, especially of pawnshops, but this place was pretty awesome!
I went in kind of looking at stereo stuff and maybe a cordless drill and ended up getting a sweet pair of beats, a watch, a brushless XR dewalt driver, and a multitool and a vintage Vietnam air corps survival knife. I might still go back for a computer I wanted too if it's still there after payday.
The place had a lot of, well everything, and I just started checking stuff out, the have the usual stuff like amps and guitars, stereos, video games (if youâre lucky), and tools and computers, jewelry, you get it. I think what really made my day was this girl Kaytie or Kaytee or something, I know it was different. She was super nice and took the time to show me all the things I asked about. The watches were in the case, but she let me look at all of them and eventually helped me decide on the one I got when I couldnât make up my mind.
When I got up to the counter with my armload of stuff, she was super thorough explaining the policies and whatnot, and when I asked if I could get a bundle discount she was able to work it out with the manager or whoever and got me a little lower, which was already about half what you would pay at a regular store, and it was all brand new looking anyway, except the knife which is the idea of vintage. I mean hey, itâs off 82nd, so who knows, it might actually have been brand new. I asked about whether they get a lot of stolen stuff but she said they hold everything for at least a month or so to give the cops a chance to make sure it isnât stolen so I feel good about the whole thing all in all, and I guess they get to know how to spot it and which regulars are most suspect.
Kickass place and kickass service, super glad I decided to drop in after WinCo! Shout out to Kaytie for...
Read moreI'm a handyman remodeler in the Portland area and I was needing to be out in Gresham to finish a project but didn't have any of my tools because they were in my buddies other vehicle from a job he helped me with yesterday . My regular working van is out of commission and I'm in the process of buying a new van in the next day or two so I've I've been getting taxied around by this guy so that I can still work etc .. Due to a misunderstanding today between us, I don't have my tools, he's not answering, I can't get a hold of him and he knows that I need them clear back to this morning.... Long story short.... my only option was to hit USA pawn to get a drill and a saw on my way out to Gresham. I did not want to spend the money but I put service quality and value at the top of everything I do when I do projects for people I don't cut corners and so I didn't want to cancel and I wanted to finish this for them because they've been patient. Long story short X2....I go in the pawn shop James helps me- hooks me up with an electric drill and a saw that was actually my saw that I let expire on a ticket months back and totally hooked me up with an entire set of driver bits and drill bits as well for free. He threw in a battery and a charger because I told him my situation and I did not want to have to buy that stuff at Home Depot on my way out to Gresham. I believe the manager there which I've dealt with before is Manny please forgive me if that's not your name but he knows his stuff I always like working with him so there's two people that helped me out tremendously and there was a third gal that was working there as well who was friendly and so it was a huge solid it helped me a lot! To be honest I was shocked that they did that so definitely relieved some of my stress thank you so...
