I gave it two stars because I had at least 3 good class workouts in the past two months. My husband and I only signed up because of the classes offered but the classes didn't officially start until a month after signing up and that was just a "pop up" class. Tobe honest, I don't think this location is prepared. They should have a team from another store that has been in operation come help them for 90 days or so. The children's area has a nice staff but it always smells like urine as soon as you walk in. In a newly built gym, thats crazy. The bathroom is not kid friendly and its not very clean every time I go in there, which is every time I come in. I take my three children into the bathroom to wash their hands before we leave and the faucet never works correctly so I'm pretty sure every kid is not properly washing their hands. My youngest (who doesn't attend any daycare or school) contracted hand, foot and mouth. I cant definitely say it came from there but the last time we were there it was overcrowded and she got sick about two days later. I haven't been back since. The childrens area is shut down for several hours during the day, so why not do a major cleaning before the 4pm shift. I've been to that section in the morning and evening and its still the same. A strong urine smell. And speaking of faucets, the faucets in the adult bathroom is also faulty which is extremely bad in a gym. Can you say MRSA? I brought some of these things to the attention of young lady who is the GM in the evening and she said she would address the issue. Being that I love to stay active I really hoped this gym would workout for my husband and I but it doesn't look promising. When signing up as a "Founding Member", I explained to the young man that the classes and the children's area were the selling point for us and personally I feel its not worth it. I wish this gym the best in the future because I am a resident of Portsmouth and I think this gym will be a good look for the city but its going to take every one of those twenty plus people standing at the front desk to come together and want excellence for their new store. Much success but i have to respectfully terminate...
Read moreI’ve been loving my experience at crunch, I love the fact that I can get like triple what I get at other gyms for less. I’ve been training with Sophie for some knee pain and rehabilitation type stuff after hurting my knee years ago. This is like the first time ever being able to actually be consistent in the gym for me because my pain is reducing!! Can’t recommend enough 🫶
My Experience with Sophie: We did a quick consult the first day and she asked about my goals and what I thought was inhibiting them. Then we did some workouts for her to gauge what was going on, afterwards she designed me a plan for my first four weeks it was lower weight, and more focused on my rehabilitation and knee health, and then week three she asked me how it was going and reworked my plan to help me continue to grow in my goals. Super informative, listens to client, can like actually read my body language when working out so she adjusts the weights like perfectly, and actually listens to my preferences and such for example I prefer using free weights for upper body, and she moved around my plan to accommodate that) can’t say enough good about my experience
Quick overview of what you get for literally 30 dollars: classes, full use of the gym (super clean and 24 hours through the weekdays) + the tanning and massage things if you use those AND you get to bring a guest if you want! There’s...
Read moreI signed up two weeks ago if that and I wanted to change my membership. I went in today to change my membership and I was told I could but it would be a 20.00 fee. I told them to just cancel my membership because why should I have to pay a fee to change a membership that I only had for two weeks if that. I only been in there twice since I signed up. I was explained all the perks but never was told about fees if changing a membership. I understand a fee if canceling but not changing. The manager could have just waived the fee but instead she rather lose a customer. She was very nasty. I ask her for corporate phone number because I really didn't want to cancel my membership I just wanted the fee waived. When I ask her for corporate phone number she told me to googled it and dismiss me. She was very unprofessional and the advertising is misleading. If you gone inform us of all the perks and one month free why not warn us about fees and things of that nature if you want to change or cancel membership. So now I have to pay 60.00 because I cancel my membership and remind you I only set foot in there twice and I just signed up not that to long ago. I was very excited The same day I just went out to buy a lock and everything for the lockers gone to get treated...
