As a born and raised local, I have grown up loving Cabela’s, the taxidermy, the fish, the shooting arcade, as I’ve grown up it has been a great place to accommodate and guide my new hobbies. I tend to go elsewhere often do to the staff not being very knowledgeable, where as some of the other, more small/local businesses are teeming with knowledge. However this Saturday I went with my wife to get some ring mounts for my new vortex. The staff offered to mount it and bore sight it for me at no additional cost. I spoke with several team members, primarily Lloyd, they were all unbelievably helpful, kind, knowledgeable, and just overall personable. This has completely changed my perspective/desire to come here. I will be back (when my wife lets, as we spent right around the $1k area due to the helpful staff helping me find my desired products that I planned on purchasing online) Yet again, thanks Lloyd!

I can't buy a gun per cabelas corporate policy's.. Not sure what is going on since I purchased firearms recently. The excuse I was given that atf cant track me be cause I live in a rv campground. I contacted ATF by email and nothing states in that email about my current address at a rv campground is illegal. My address matches my driver license so I am legal to purchase a firearm. So it's Cabelas company policy making up this rule to protect them selves. I will support local gun shops in Idaho from now on. Any fellow veterans like me who are full time rv'er s just a heads up. Save some time and ask staff before wasting your time. This post will be here forever until corporate changes it's policy.

On March 21, 2019 my wife and I went to Cabela's Post Falls Idaho, to buy her a new pistol, ear plugs and a conceal carry purse. We were the only people at the gun counter but we got a next in line ticket anyway . The counter person was helping someone with rifle scopes at the other end of the counter about 75 feet away. We kept looking to see if he was available to us. This went on for about 15 minutes and then the customer left the scope counter. Another customer stepped up and the employee helped him. When he finished with that customer we expected him to come our way. Instead he walked away from us to the register where another employee was helping another customer. We waited making eye contact with him 4 or 5 times. About that time another employee came from a door behind the counter marked staff only. He began to look over the rifle inventory. After about 4 to 5 more minutes still looking for help, I asked the Employee that came through the door if there was anyone working the gun counter. He looked up and said yes but that everyone was busy helping other customers. I told him that there was another counter person that was just standing at the other end of the counter watching another customer being served. Again he said that every one was busy with customers. I told him that was not what I was seeing but OK. Then he curtly replied is there anything I can help you with. Immediately I felt uncomfortable with him. But I said yes we wanted to see the Lady Smith that was on sale.He could not find it and asked the price and if it was in their flier. I answered his questions but still felt like I was bothering him. After a couple of minutes I felt like I was more of a pain in the butt to him than anything else. I told him never mind I would make the purchase some where else. As my wife and I walked away his response was an arrogant and rude have a good night. I said I was going to tell the Manager how rude we had just been treated. He then blurted out what did you say to me in a confrontational manner . I turned took a couple of steps in his direction and repeated what I had said. As I turned to walk away again he started arguing that he was not rude and tried to defend his position. He did this in a loud voice and I am sure other customers heard the confrontation. On our way out another employee asked if everything was alright. I asked where I could find the Manager. He told me he was a manager, and asked what was wrong. I explained to him what went on at the gun counter. He took my name and phone number and asked the name of the person we dealt with, I told him I did not know his name but gave him a description. (Blue plaid shirt. bald head, middle aged) (Can't be more than one person like that behind the counter at that time, he should be easy to identify) The Manager asked if it was alright if a regional manager called me. I told him it was alright. It has been 9 days and I have not heard from any one from Cabela's It seems that they really don't care. We have been a club member since 1992 and have shopped there years before that.We spend a considerable amount of money there each year, with some big ticket items as well. I have never been treated this bad anywhere. I do not believe in being disrespectful to people. I try to treat then the way I want to be treated. I am not a demanding person. I was in shock the way these people treated us. I will never buy a firearm from Cabela's... , and I will reconsider where I spend my sportsman dollar in the future, there are many places to choose from . A couple of days later we went to a local gun show and spent $600.00 on a new gun and ammo. We won't be shopping there any time soon...

Cabela's has the greatest seasonings ever, yay, hands down, BUT, here it goes, The new CABELA'S in-store changes really suck since Bass Pro Shops have taken over the Cabela's Company.. myself and grandpa used to look forward to going to the Bargain Cave and have fresh Cooked wild game in the Cabela's Restaurant and now both are closed down in-store at the post falls, Idaho location. We would find ourselves shopping for sometimes 6 hours at that store and have 2 meals sometimes why we were there...a full customer is a happy customer, It seemed like we spent more money at Cabela's because we didn't have a reason to need to leave the store for lunch or dinner. I just went there last week for seasoning and a Turkey call, The employees are unexperienced and have no clue on where things are in the store.. WE WANT THE BARGAIN CAVE BACK, AND THE RESTERAUNT BACK TOO....(Please!!) Since Bass Proshops have taken over this store, it seems like their products have changed too and They're out of stock on my most needed items it seems and, maybe in fairness some due to covid19..but I find myself going to sportsman's warehouse in Spokane Washington for certain other items. We would always drive to Idaho for our hunting needs when we have our own stores right here.. So, incase that you haven't heard, Sometimes Change Isn't Good for an already successful established Business. Myself and Grandpa have been shopping at Cabela's for many, many years now and we are finding ourselves going elsewhere for some products..last week at Cabela's It took two employees to find out where the Turkey calls were in your Cabela's store and you think it would be readily accessible especially since hunting season has started for Turkey already in Wa... One would think that they would have a Turkey Section that was not at the end of the store and maybe on a side isle with the hunting section products.. these changes are horrible, Why would you change a successful business that wasn't broken anyways..These changes are why I Discontinued my Cabela's Credit Card..I just hope that Cabela's/ Bass proshops CEO sees this post! I know I'm not in this one alone.. Please ask your Cabela's customers for their opinions and input.. The word is out and Cabela's Customers don't like these changes.. Please give us our Cabela's Store Back. David B....

Why is it I always end up here in the late hours, typically on shameful drive back to WA from a day spent in lovely ID. You may have seen me, veering off mostly unintentionally from my husband as he hones in on his mission undoubtedly in the guns and ammo section. It's not that I don't enjoy a gander at the shiny boom sticks, it's simply that this store is so expansive, clean, and inviting!

Even a liberal might like the bougee "outdoor" wear section where they can unfortunately, find the very UNCOMPETITIVE high prices that makes them feel top tier. Ok, we know that's not true. Tell them the fish are rescues from fish ladder catastrophes and can't be released back into the wild and the abundance of taxidermy critters are actually out of work anmitronic actors from closed down Chuck E. Cheese knockoffs.

As long as you have a solid job, just visited the ATM with someone else's card on your way, or just came from a robbery with no police chase allowed across the border in WA, you'll find everything you could possibly want to venture outdoors, indulge in your sportsman's hobbies (sorry, er, "way of life"), protect yourself from all the elements and dangers of the world and find that $160 Yeti that holds a couple gallons of water in an iced state for 4 years. The only thing you won't find is the precise ammo you need for your favorite gun... because no one has it... because Biden and Inslee.

So, put on your best walking shoes, get hydrated (or buy the yeti, and don't worry the bathrooms are really clean), bring extra cash for the mile of snacks you're forced to resist approaching the registers, prepare the bridge of your nose to try on about 400 pairs of the coolest sunglasses you've always wanted but didn't know where to buy and still can't afford (Seriously Maui Jim? Can you TRY to be affordable... just a little? I'd buy like, 3 pairs and make them prescriptions if they weren't a bazillion dollars), and work on not looking like you're sketchy simply because you're worried you're going to look sketchy because you're staring at weapons like an 8...
