Read moreI've pretty much bought most of my shoes there for the last decade and appreciate their wide selection of the type of shoes I have to wear since a foot injury. While the service has been hit or miss with most of the time having only one sales person, now in their new location with vastly increased merchandise, good service seems to cease to exist.
The only person there was head down engrossed in doing something behind the cashiers desk, with an unfriendly demeanor, while there were 3 other customers browsing. My jovial approach to comment that as a long time loyal customer I was happy to see all those new choices was totally ignored, as were subsequent attempts to find specific brands.
Finally another sales person showed up, but chit chatting with the first one without asking anyone if they needed help. I interrupted their talks, asking if there will be signs that showed brand names at the top of the wall racks like it was in the previous store, but was being "educated" that brands were scattered all over the store. Suppose now I'll just have to waste my time finding an available - or wait for a sales person to locate my preferred brands.
Comparing their service with the previous, albeit different business at that location, where everyone was well trained, helpful and friendly, shopping there today was a bit of a letdown. Hope they will hire better trained, friendlier sales personnel going forward. I still want to support this, like all local businesses, as it has what I need without having to go to...
Read moreI have had the exact same experience as other(s) here. Amazing selection, inconsistent service, with poor service more often than not. I feel like I could have written the identical review Gitte wrote. My passion for the brands they carry and my obvious intention to purchase has been met with a range of reactions from none-at-all to the bizareness of the Gen Z Stare, to borderline disdain. I walked out this past weekend and have turned around & purchased both the Taos sneakers and Birkenstocks, which I originially went in for, online (and not from Indigo Plum's site). I want to support local businesses and value having a shop such as this in NK but I refuse to beg someone to take my money. I was treated so poorly this weekend that even my 13 yo noticed and hugged me once we walked out. The new shop is gorgeous, the product range is excellent. The owner would be well advised to be more selective in hiring and/or focus on customer service training. Great service and the immediate satisfaction of having a product in hand (& the correct size) are the 2 biggest weapons brick & mortar businesses have against online retailers. Without that, this is just a place to browse. I will try again eventually because I am a perennial optimist and eager to support local businesses but I won't keep...
