My family and I were visiting New Jersey and being from Canada it's much harder to find Sonny Angel dolls. However Limelite came up on the Sonny Angel app as a location close to us so we decided to check them out. I don't know what I was expecting, but when we arrived to the shop I was blown away with their large selection of cute and lovely items! Items with Kirby, Sanrio, Pokemon, Studio Ghibli, Sonny Angels, Anime, Jack the Skeleton, snacks, and more! (tbh I didn't even fully explore the store, because I knew I'd want to buy everything lol).
We were on a mission for Sonny Angels though, so we asked the owner and they happily showed us right away. Another owner even greeted us and brought us baskets for our items. Such nice service! We shopped for the Sonny's, taking our time because they had so many series it was hard to choose lol. Definitely a good problem to have :P. When we were done, we checked out and the owner was so nice and cheerful, chatted with us about Sonny Angels, our visit and the shop. Very easy going and kind people.
We ended up loving our visit so much, and wanted even more Sonny Angels (they are addicting to get!!) we managed to drive back before leaving New Jersey. Our second visit to the store was just as good as the first. We loved it here and I would be back every week if I lived in the area, no joke! :D
Side note: I'm not too sure where all these poor reviews are coming from, not once did I feel uncomfortable in the store or "watched." The shop is a little on the smaller scale in terms of size, so the cash register isn't far from most of the merchandise. If anything, the owners may watch to make sure you're satisfied with your experience and are attentive. As they did bring us baskets when they noticed our hands getting full. I don't know about anyone else, but that is amazing service, totally do not expect that from any store and it was a nice touch. The owners constantly were nice and smiling, the vibes in the store were so good and calm. I could shop in there all day. My family and I are also POC and did not experience any of the racial claims the other reviews have made. SO if you're in the area, and want to find the most adorable items, you should stop by! I highly recommend them and you can see for yourself how lovely the shop and...
Read moreWent here with my partner some time back and felt extremely uncomfortable when browsing through the store. As I was making my way through the store, the owner kept following me and was standing right behind me and my partner as we were looking through the collections. It was very crowded the day we went and yet the owner was very obviously only staring at and following us (is it because we are poc?). Every time I would turn around, I would find the owner standing very close behind me, or continuously staring at me from the cash register. I understand their fears about shoplifting and etc but as a member of this community who has been frequenting this store and their previous store, morning glory, I have always felt extremely uncomfortable by their behavior. But, this past incident where the owner was basically stalking me and my partner, is unacceptable. At the end of the day, this is a toy store. I don’t understand why you would go to the lengths to create such a hostile environment and suck the joy out of a toy store. It was quite embarrassing for my every move to be suspected by the owner and it angered me to think that I can’t comfortably look around without my every move being watched. It’s safe to say that I will no longer be shopping here for birthday gifts for my nieces and nephews. It’s quite unfortunate since we all loved the products they sell, but if an innocent shopping experience is made to be this uncomfortable, I refuse to...
Read moreI've been to the store several times, even when it was on Nassau St. They always have a lot of unique and fun things. However, on my last visit, the owners made me feel very unwelcome. A backing to an earring my daughter was looking at seemed to fall off. This really annoyed the owner and she appeared to be complaining to her husband about me and daughter in Hangul. The rest of the time we were there, her husband followed us. I wasn't aware of the no picture rule, until I read another review of someone who experienced the same treatment we did. The owner asked me in a nasty way, "Can I help you?" However, her tone was as if she was really saying if you're not getting anything, then get out. The unfortunate thing is that we were there the day before to purchase a gift for my daughter. The owner's daughter, who has always been so kind, shared that the price would be going up for these items. We went back the following day to purchase similar items before they increased in price and look for gift ideas for my son's birthday at the end of the month. We try to shop local and support small businesses, but sadly after this experience, we will not be returning...
