We were at the Hillside, IL Homegoods. We wanted to purchased a Table Console. A sales staff took the item to the front, when we were going to pay the item price that was rung up was different than what the floor tag said. The manager proceeded to tell me that it’s my responsibility to check the written price physically in the furniture and therefore the price rung up is the price. Shortly after, when the staff was going to load the piece to my car I noticed that the table was damaged . When I shared this with the manager she proceed to grab a marker and marker in the table to hide the damanged piece and said she would take $10 off. I was immediately shocked at the fact that she colored in the table with marker, which I had already purchased without my permission. She was rude and extremely unprofessional. I returned the piece as she damaged my already purchased piece even more by coloring it without my permission. I can't even begin to express how awesome the manager is here! Seriously, their incredible service is beyond words. I used to come here all the time last year and I bought so much stuff for my house that I practically lived here for a week. And let me tell you, the manager was always super friendly and accommodating. So, I decided to go back again recently, and let me just say, the service was absolutely incredible once again! Home goods is probably my favorite store to visit and browse. It’s a stress reliever! This one though already has a pretty small selection of things and it’s rare for me to find a diamond in the rough. I only come to this one if I know what I need since it’s right off the highway. Deals are pretty bad. And most recently, a sales associate argued with me on the price of an unlabeled item. Is it worth arguing for a few bucks when I brought something comparable (and of higher quality) with me to the cash register and did your job for you?!
