United States Postal Service — Local services in Putnam Township

I cannot even give them one star! My daughter brought her WEDDING invitations to this post office to have them weighed so they would be properly handled. She was told to add additional postage, which we did. Well, we had ~30 invitations come back and they were DESTROYED. I took them back to the post office and initially, the clerk (Damien) was trying to help. He told us to bring in any additional invitations that come back as the original clerk made an error. Well, my daughter brought them in and the supervisor (Sandy) and the clerk who made the initial error (dark hair, glasses & walks with a cane) tried to tell her that we had to pay the difference. They then commented that the envelopes were different sizes - this is because we had to buy new envelopes because we ran out of the ones with the invitations. I spent $400 on these invitations! Long story, short - they did fix the postage but told my daughter that DAMIEN (the sweet clerk who tried to help me) was going to have to pay the difference (only 65 cents but still). Will NEVER go back. Of note, this is the same post office that a few months prior had left my daughter's shower gifts in the middle of my driveway during a rain/snow storm and all the boxes were destroyed (despite me having a wrap-around porch that is completely covered). Terrible...

Recieved "Sorry we missed you slip" and now the PACKAGE is LOST...Tried calling them today. 1st call rang and rang and rang. After about 3 1/2 minutes the ringing signal went to a busy signal. The 2nd call I got through to a NICE and helpful employee. After our conversation ended and we hung up, I had an IMPORTANT update for them that could have assisted them in resolvong my issue. * 11 * calls...rang and rang and rang and rang till it went to a busy signal 3 1/2 minutes each time. Now they are closed because the outgoing message PROMPTLY told me so. Fingers crossed...hope they can resolve my issue by tomorrow since it has been 3 days already.

UPDATE: 2 days later...no call back or package. My local office can't find it or track it because the mail carrier has illegible handwriting, also didnt put sender info on "missed you slip"...

**At Office, the less than personable employee said, "I guess I will see if I can find it." Seems as though I was an inconvenience. THIS IS WHY I SHIP...

I wish I could leave them.as many negative stars as the number of hours I have had to spend dealing with them regarding stolen packages from my PO Box with zero resolution. I've had my box there for six and a half years, and the last two years have been nothing but trouble. Customer service from a select few at the desk is terrible.

They cannot properly deliver mail to boxes. They cannot properly deliver packages to boxes or parcel lockers. Items are conveniently marked as delivered, so you cannot recoup lost funds for items you've paid for but never received. Also, conveniently, the post office will not reimburse for items stolen by the post office's help. This location facilitates mail theft by their negligence and then tells you, "Everyone makes mistakes," and then accuses you of collecting the package and "forgetting."

No one should have to pay that much money for a PO Box only to not be able to trust having anything sent there.
